Thank you for this video. Looking for something to engrave a silicone pen. Could you recommend something inexpensive? Thank you

Almost any laser can engrave silicone, so for the best value, find yourself a nice 20W-30W diode laser. At the top end, check out the 24W ACMER P3 - not the cheapest, but one of the best/safest. If you're looking for more of a budget laser, look at the Longer Ray 5 24W. Check out the Product Reviews playlist, here on the channel and you'll find a complete range of lasers. Feel free to shoot me an email to ask if you have specific questions.

This one will be in my shop for a while as a second CO2. It does exactly what I need.

Yes, this feature and the laser overall are pretty awesome.

@SteveMakesEverything I know you dont have much room in the work shop but Can you review a Cnc plasma cutter next😃

Thank you. I think this is the next one I am going to get. Where I live, it is an old house with old wiring, and so I cannot get a large machine. This has some nice features and I hope my power can handle it. I have only 3 outlets that can handle window ACs, for context.
@SteveMakesEverything23 күн бұрын
This should be fine on any 15A circuit if you live in North America. CO2 laser typically don’t use a lot of power (maybe 200-300W on the input side, which is only ~3A) - far less than a window AC.

@@SteveMakesEverything Ah, thank you for explaining that, and it does give me more confidence. Yeah, I am in NA, so this should work and I can vent it safely if that is the case of the lower amps. Still, doesn't stop me from wanting one of the bigger lasers, but maybe one day...

@@RoseKindred If you're interested I can put a power monitor on mine and measure the current, but I run this laser, the exhaust fan and a few other things on the same 15A circuit and I have no issues

@@SteveMakesEverything Thank you for the offer, but I will take your word for it. If you can do all that on a single circuit, I should be able to. Sounds like I can use it on one of my "AC outlets." I just have to check the wiring. I've had a few outlets so far where the circuit tester either wasn't grounded or wires flipped. Gotta love "fix em ups."

What I find missing from pretty much all CO2 laser reviews, is that the fact that the laser itself is as consumable item and needs to be replaced - it cannot be refilled. And the cost is significant. I have a Flux Beambox 40W CO2 laser, and I am not looking forward to the day that it needs replacing. That is the biggest item on the "con" list.
@SteveMakesEverything9 күн бұрын
Yes, you’re correct and this was an oversight, though I have three co2 lasers in my shop that run almost every day and I’ve still never replaced a tube. Note that a diode laser module is also a consumable as well. It might be a bit cheaper, but I don’t think they last as long.

So do you really need a rotary to do larger imaging on tumblers ? Larger than you could do without the curved feature and is the a distortion difference between using the curved and not using . I’m sure there is but I would like to see that comparison
@SteveMakesEverything23 күн бұрын
There are limits to the amount of curve you can achieve without a rotary, and certainly, if you want to engrave all the way around a tumbler, you will obviously need a rotary.

cant you find a more expensive laser?? this is to cheap for my liking . :\ XD
@SteveMakesEverything23 күн бұрын
Sure you can buy a comparable Glowforge, which is close to $7000 and is still only 45W and no way to add a rotary😉. No question the P2S is pricey, but it definitely has features that you won't find on any other Co2 laser. It's not going to be for everyone, but if it's in your budget, then it is one to consider.

@@SteveMakesEverything nah thats not expensive enough. XD
