6:59 while skimming through the list of compatibility, i noticed the special function column. When it says *Replace ECU* as a special function, does it mean i have to change out the ECU or is it an optional function?

It depends on the car. Not all cars support that function.

Another excellent review! I should add recently there was a problem discovered with the Xtool D8, where you could put the rear parking brakes into service mode with the scan tool however you could not take them out with the scan tool. This application was on a 2016 f150.

From what I can see, it supports BAIC key programming. If you want to ask with specificity down to your VIN number, it would be best to contact XTOOL customer support.

Fair point. But I always declare when I get free review samples. I also make a conscious effort to point out cons as well as pros. As a principle, I've turned down paid scanner reviews. I've been offered a lot of those, but I've always declined them.

I have neither of those devices, however, the main difference would be that the x100 pad3 is an advanced key programmer and will have the edge over the D8 in key programming. Even when you add the key programming accessories to both tools the D8 may not retrieve pin codes on some stubborn vehicles lol. Some models of Dodge I believe.

@siegfredreginaldo The difference between those 2 at a function level is not clear to me going by what is on XTOOL's site. The xpad3 has better hardware but is listed to have less service functions. So, I can't really say.
