The one thing I don't like is that you only can get the filter material as a set. All the different levels of filtration have different rates of absorption, so the different materials do not have to be replaced at the same time. But you can't get them as individual parts.

Thanks for your comment. I know what you mean. What I do is to always use 2 inexpensive pre-filters on top of the unit where the smoke comes in. You need to use both a carbon pre-filter and a white mesh pre-filter on top of your unit. Adding these on top is MUCH cheaper than replacing the entire filter from xtool and the pre-filters capture a majority of the dust/smoke. Will last a couple weeks with heavy use. Here are the ones I use: White Pre-Filter for Smoke Purifier: amzn.to/3SrIZzc Black Carbon Pre-Filter for Smoke Purifier: amzn.to/3vWnZsA

Great, informative video. As with the other comments below, what is and where you do purchase the filter material are you using? Can you please share the link or place these items in your store front? Thanks in advance.

Can you share the additional materials you have added to it? We are struggling with still having a smoke smell with it

The carbon filter should ALWAYS be the final stage in a filtration system, as the filter can no longer perform adsorption once the pores are filled. Also, when any filter layer becomes clogged the system ceases to be effective at removing toxins from the air. The xTool filter packs are properly designed with a coarse prefilter to trap large particles, followed by a HEPA filter, and finally the carbon filter. If you're going to add additional filters, then the prefilter material would be added above the xTool filter pack and a carbon filter layer would be added beneath it. The major problem with the xTool filter packs (and similar designs) is the life expectancy in run hours is rather limited for the cost. In a production environment, these filters only function as designed for about 2 weeks. This results in an annual cost in excess of $4,200 US after taxes. I strongly recommend purchasing air quality monitoring equipment. You can replace equipment and filters, but there's only one you.

Does this make the air assist redundant? We just got the M1 and considering to get the filter too, but unsure if we need the air assist as well. Are you still happy with it?
@MarksPrimePicks6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. You need both. The built in fan (i.e. air assist ) forcefully moves the smoke out of the machine and pushes it to the smoke purifier. Unless you are able to exhaust outside (which you would need a separate exhaust fan to push outside). If you are inside an office with no way to vent outside, this is one of the only effective ways I've seen to handle the smoke and fumes.

Do you wash your pre-filters? If so, what's your process?
@MarksPrimePicks8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Some people seem to do that, but its a mess, so I just replace the pre-filters using inexpensive replacement material every couple weeks. Here are the ones I use: White Pre-Filter for Smoke Purifier: amzn.to/3SrIZzc Black Carbon Pre-Filter for Smoke Purifier: amzn.to/3vWnZsA

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. It still makes the room smell and the fillets full up very quickly and the fillets are not cheap. Biggest waste of money

Hi Tim, thanks for your comment. I've certainly had issues like everyone else, but I've found that if I keep up with my pre-filter change out schedule, it works well for my needs inside of an office. Just need to swap out the complete filter unit every few months, depending on usage.
