My first time on the Grand National was 50 years ago before it was watered down with modern safety restrictions. Superseded by the techno coasters of today a long time ago but in my opinion nothing beats a decent Woody the ride is so much more involving than sterilized experience offered by the modern steel contraptions loops, rolls and all. The Grand National can hold its head high.

1st: Brilliant video. Fantastic beauty shots followed by a good POV. And 2nd: Question to ask, as this is a mobius one track coaster. Could you tell where the overlap is when riding it or is it too cleverly hidden for anyone to notice?

Thank you, pleased you enjoyed it :) There is no overlap on the Grand National, both trains end up on the opposite side of the lift due to heading in opposite directions out of the station. If you board the coaster on the right hand side platform, it does a 180 turn to the right. This means you end up on the left hand side of the lift hill, so end up coming back into the left hand station. It's the same for the left platform, that turns 180 to the left, so ends up on the right hand side of the lift, so ends up heading back into the platform on the right hand side.

Of course there's an overlap. It's hard to spot because it happens right at the beginning. After the trains split off at the 180 degree turn one of the trains goes under the track, then at the end of the ride (at the 'Winning Post') both trains go over the track. (see vid @ 1:25 and 3:25).

Compared to Big Dipper, it rides like an RMC 🤣 You have to expect to get thrown about a little on these classic woodies. They're not going to ride like a modern day coaster.

Very split on the idea. Something like Twisted Colossus at BPB would be a game changer for the park. But it's such a classic coaster, it would be a shame to loose it.

@@XtremeCoasters I'd rather they rmc'd Dipper as there's more they could do with it as apposed to National. What they really need to do though is Intamin the Big One, if only they waited another half decade so they didn't end up with an arrow hyper instead of intamin/b&m
