When you were playing that youtube video on the left side, that video is actually not playing in full format, that's why you are not seeing the skip option ! Just touch the screen on the video and swipe up.. the screen will now show the video in the right format and you can always pinch to zoom in or out !

Hi. I bought the same screen. BMW. I had a different one before and like you, do not need the aux cable. Can I ask two things: 1. The mic. Previously I did not have a full android, but only a car-play mirroring linux screen and did not need the mic, as it was using the phone. Is the mic supplied for the android part and all apart the car-play? And how do you invoke siri, i could do it with the speech button on the steering wheel, did you try that in car-play mode? 2. The harness has two black jacks, male female, i think I noticed in your video that you have them connected and taped. They say RCA in and RCA out. Or did you leave them disconnected? Thanks

@@supermario6129 hi. Thanks for the reply. In the mean time I figured it out. So the car settings give you a option for bluetooth switching. If on, as soon as you start using the bluetooth calls it auto switches to the supplied speaker and mic. So you can be in radio, or aux, whatever mode in the car and you can talk to people via the mic and speaker. You can actually hear a little relay click in the unit. Or if the BT switching is off, the CarPlay calls will go into the car’s stereo and not need for both the speaker and mic. But you need to be in AUX. This is now I have it and how I like it.

You only replace the screen, but the sound goes through the AUX connection, hence the lower sound quality

I guess you need to use the aux cable and Switch sound to aux. Usually much worse sound quality. I only use CarPlay and i keep connecting the phone directly to the BMW bluetooth.

the sound can never be better via AUX than OEM via MOST. no matter how you set the equalizer, the quality always suffers from the transmission over AUX. I have tested 6 different Android devices and now I have Mr12Volt CarPlay MMI. There is nothing better than Mr12Volt if you already have the 10.25 screen. I would only prefer Android screen if you also want to upgrade the screen from the small 6.5 inch. Otherwise I prefer 10.25 and OEM audio over MOST. Mr12Volt can also retrofit rear and Front Camera. Works fine. Why would you install such a large screen? Netflix is ​​so rarely used in the car that it's simply not worth sacrificing good audio quality.

Mr12Volt provides different device. nothing to do with android screen. It just brings carplay capabilities. I agree most is better than aux, but also, with Mr12Volt devices audio is transferred from phone wirelesly to the Mr12Volt device and then by most to the oem system. If i compare wireless vs aux - aux wins.

@ CarPlay Transfers by wifi Not BT. but that's beside the point. I don't need studio quality in the car. But Aux is just significantly worse and that bothers me personally. I know some people who prefer to use Android, but they have poor audio quality, but why? Of course, Android screens have other advantages, like video streaming via Netflix, YT, etc. But how often do people use that compared to music? Music is much more important to me in the car, and the quality of Android systems NEVER comes close to Mr12Volt as long as AUX is used. As I said, I've tested several systems in my BMW and none of them came anywhere close to MOST quality. I get in the car, CarPlay starts immediately in 5 seconds and the music plays. With Android, the long boot time alone is annoying. It takes at least 30-40 seconds for everything to be ready for use, and as soon as the car is turned off, the booting starts again from the beginning. ZLink is not well optimized and has lots of bugs, the display doesn't look good because it's too reflective. Even a matt film doesn't help because it reduces the quality of the display. But that's a matter of taste..

As I said, other systems also have other advantages and disadvantages. I know ppl they prefer KZbin or UEFA Video Streaming while driving instead of MOST Audio quality. The quality of AUX is not that bad but even worse than MOST.
