Great Xu Shu. I always imagined what would happen if Xu Shu stayed with Liu Bei along with Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong

With Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong and Xu Shu, Liu Bei really would have a dream team of great minds. Shu always had very talented men.

Three Kingdoms Xu shu would have been better than Pang Tong. He didn’t have the same jealous streak, since he was willing to value Zhuge Liang over himself here.

He should have. Together with Pang Tong and Zhuge Liang they would have done some major damage to Cao Wei and potentially restore Han Dynasty just like Zhang Liang, Han Xin, and Xiao He did for Liu Bang.

It's a leader's last task: to recommend someone else greater and more able, to replace him. (most don't do this: they're more concerned about preserving their own glory instead of truly helping the nation) Xu Shu's truly an honorable selfless hero.

Xu Shu was not leaving Liu Bei of his own volition. Cao Cao was holding his mother hostage to force him to leave Liu Bei. So the last thing Xu Shu wanted to do as one last act of service yo Liu Bei and to defy Cao Cao was to tell Liu Bei where to find Zhuge Liang, whose location was kept secret in respect of his privacy and high standards.
