The red one is a 1981 920RH, the Silver one is 1982 920RJ, While they're both rare, the 1982 Silver item is the much rarer of the two. It's unfortunate you decided to cut one up.

Good to know. I always just thought it was the “R” and ones with fairings were the “RH”. Learn something new every day. It’s not unfortunate that I’m cutting it up because at the end of the day it’s not worth that much and I would have spent more getting it back to original than it’s worth. If I didn’t save this motorcycle it was most likely going to keep rotting and NOBODY would have restored it back to original. Everything was ruined on it. So it’s fortunate that it’s getting a new life at least.

@@dwelker284 Good luck with your project. While you're too young to remember these bikes were rare when new, after 40 years they're 100 times rarer now....BTW, neither had a fairing unless added.

They’re so hard to find. I found someone who had one but it turned out to be in much worse condition than I wanted to deal with. They do look so good though.

Bike literally says “Virago” on the side…..
