The King/Armor King story throughout the tekken series is underrated imo. There’s a lot of nuance and sadness

Such an iconic game, that helped carry my childhood. Gotta say, this game was ahead of its time, and you literally can't own a PS1 without having this game. Still glad to have my copy, and the iconic console still in use today. Been back to playing Tekken once again, all throughout this week already and the nostalgia is bringing back so many memories. Honestly was a great way to end the month of August, getting back into this. Happy to see people still play it, as well. Great Characters, Audio, Storyline, and graphics for it's time. Iconic. 8/25/22

No wonder I was so taken with these when I was a kid. They're really well done. I don't even like fighting games much but I've always loved this one. Thinking about pulling it out to do some Tekken Force Mode.

***** That took me a moment but now rivers of nostalgia flow from these old, bitter eyes. (I'm not that old. I really need to play this game again.)
@Gaff.9 жыл бұрын
***** I'm glad I'm not the only one that gradually gave up on Tekken after this. Thought it was my fault but maybe they just weren't as good. Myself, I played Resident Evil 2 to absolute death on the PS1. But the difference there is I then got RE2 on every platform it was released on and haven't gone a single year without playing it since then. Although, before I started doing that my original RE2 copy was lost somewhere and it was my favourite game, and I would think about it from time to time, but at some point someone had a computer with a sound theme that was really close to RE2's menu sounds, and I maybe emptied my money drawer or begged my parents but whatever the case, I got a new copy, and it was expensive I recall, so maybe it was the Dreamcast version, new at the time. Oh, the days of begging one's parents for money. Anyway, I still have my PS2 (and PS1 actually) and definitely _somewhere_ have this game. If I can't locate it, there's always emulators. And for once, it wouldn't be illegal. After all, I own everything I'd be emulating. PS: I looooooooved Twisted Metal 1 and 2. I was really disappointed in 3 and haven't gone back to the series but you seem to like Black.
@Gaff.9 жыл бұрын
***** Resident Evil is my favourite by miles. I don't like the newer ones like 6, but the classics are brilliant. Never played Gekido but I adored Powerstone. Been looking to get started on the Yakuza series, but I want to wait until they all have subtitles as it's a very story-driven series. Supposed to be similar to Shenmue but with more fighting and definitely sillier. Shame about your Twisted Metal disc. You have to take care of that stuff, haha. Does your PS2 not play PS1 games? If it used to but only the PS1 games won't read anymore, that happened to me and I had to take apart the PS2 and clean the laser inside, as that's the one that's used for PS1 games in the PS2. There's video guides on it. Emulators can be a pian, yeah, but I build computers for fun and I like mucking about with software, so I don't mind too much. If your PC can handle it, though, there's always a guide that explains what settings are good. Sometimes that's the only way to play a great game you missed.
@Gaff.9 жыл бұрын
There's a second laser inside and if you look on-line you should be able to find more information. I'm not familiar with the slim model but I think it would be the same, meaning that cleaning that laser would do you some good. Just make sure you have a guide first so you don't touch the wrong thing. I know that my model had some really odd design choices inside.

This is how fighting game stories were told back then. You're giving a bunch of scrambled endings and it's your job to try to assembled them like a jigsaw puzzle. One major problem though, some of them weren't canon so the storyline might've thrown you off. Regardless, Namco was ahead of the curve back then on how to composed value in a console fighting game.
