People are interested, but a lot of Americans will be more interested in the English dub. It's almost always like this. And enemy's transform all the time. Imagine how people felt first time Buu saga aired. You think people were happy about fat buu, but look how that ended. Going against the popular opinion, which is that Daima is the opposite of Super, but Daima kinda suffers from the same problems Super did for me, tedious pacing, lack of tension, an emphasis on exposition over storytelling and an absence of character development (not surprising, as its writing process of getting another writer to expand a Toriyama outline is the same as Super's). It's strengths are its spectacular animation and fanservice loredumps, (which is why I personally enjoy the show so far) which are simply not enough to engage the wider audience. I don't think its a coincidence that the first episode had massive viewership and then lost interest, even though it had the great re-animated buu saga sequences and a good-looking Goku and Vegeta fight to attract fans, the actual story simply wasn't compelling enough. Fan boys who are just here for the fighting will absolutely adore Daima, it's the complete lack of story progression that drives fans away from the first few episodes. It's only exacerbated by the fact that Daima is a prequel to a prequel (pointlessly, there's absolutely nothing in the story that necessitated it being set before Buu) which inevitably sets up the expectation that nothing major is going to change. P.S. I am happy that the pretentious "Daima is the only real, canon DB sequel" people took another L with Gowasu showing up in episode 10.

My question for Daima is: Who's looking after Trunks? And why does Bulma need to be in the Demon realm? They already have Pansy who is Bulma 2.0. You just know Bulma is going to be like she was on Namek. There is no reason that she is not at home looking after her kid. You could have brought Chichi along too, I am sure Ox king can look after Goten like Bulma's parents are probably looking after Trunks, but they left her back on Earth. Having Vegeta and Bulma and Goku and Chichi would have been more interesting than just Bulma.

In regards to the pacing, I think something that contributes to the show feeling like its losing momentum is the extended absence of the main villains for long periods of time (the last couple of episodes have been a little better, to be fair). Dragon Ball is a series defined by its villains (as evidenced by most of its arcs being named after them) so having them not only be completely absent but also keeping audiences in the dark about their overall plans and goals makes the story feel directionless.

I’m really enjoying Dragon Ball Daima, but ik there’s a couple of flaws To not regress characters I feel like the show should’ve centred around Goten and Trunks rather than making them into babies (Gohan’s excuse could be that he has to work on his report and trusts them to return him to adult size by the time he needs to hand it in or something). Goten and Trunks should be slightly stronger than Goku and Vegeta (because they gotta get used to being children), but ultimately they would have much less stamina to compensate the power balance. Childish moments could be passed to Goten (bc they want to at old Goku back or something, but it doesn’t mean Goku can’t be naive too). No need for Bulma to be there since Trunks could be a less experienced Bulma The No. 1 Tomogami (the 1 star dragon ball protector) could be fought by Gotenks but Vegeta/Goku get 2/3 At the end of the day, Goku and Vegeta make the money and it would be far better not to risk it

I wouldn't even go as far as to say that Dragon Ball was adventure focused... cause the adventure part ended at the end of the very first Arc. Chapter 23 is where the adventure ends, after Shenron is summoned for the first time and the team separates, with Gokū deciding to go to training under Muten Rōshi. Afterwards we got a World Tournament, the RR Army, a Tournament to find the last ball, another World Tournament, Daimaō Piccolo... Another World Tournament, Alien invasion, Alien invasion but on another planet, Androids and time travel and we ended with Magic and Demons. 23 Chapters out of 519, if you consider the whole Dragon Ball manga, or 23 out of 194 if you consider until the end of the 23rd World Tournament. Nobody cares about the adventure part and nobody cares about kid Gokū except girls cause "Kid is Cute!", it was made very clear with GT doing this crap all over again was the biggest mistake in Modern Day Dragon Ball. Not even the narrative of "this is not GT 2.0" works, because that's exactly what they wanted, this was not Toriyama's idea (he only became majorly involved later), but TOEI's and everyone, at this point, should know what kind of company it is. Don't get me wrong, there are some lore aspects that are interesting, and we finally got some answers I personally was waiting since the Buu Arc (and granted that majority of them have been ret-cons...) but that's it.

It was good until episode 10 retconned everything. There’s a glind apparently doing Zeno’s job. They changed the demon realm from being created by Mechikabura after his banishment from universe 7 to predating the multiverse. The gimmick of crippling the main cast so that the antagonist stands a chance is good. It’s not a coming of age story, but one where the heroes are on the back foot due to slight of hand over being innately weaker

I love DB, DBZ,DBS and DBD! I have a few issue with DBS and that Goku Character but Daima has been great! I don't know what these so called Toxic fans are talking about! Super had bits of Z Goku mixed in, but was dominated by the parody/"bad" tropes associated with him. At this point, we'll never see the wise, yet still somewhat naive Goku he was in Z.
