1) Yes you can just have virtual card only 2) You can redeem the gems at any level. Actually the video is somewhat inaccurate, if you do initial deposit of 25k+ or 50k+ and get superstar or megastar account there is still no MAB, however, they have now introduced something called as Loyalty Eligibility, so if you start the account as Megastar, they say to maintain 50k quarterly to retain megastar status but if you dont you'll be moved to superstar and you'll get rewards accordingly.

If possible try to manage 50k+ initial deposit and start with megastar status, you'll get free debit card that too Visa Signature one, star and superstar customers get Visa Platinum.
