They are many. I think I really love the relationship between Hiro and Lucia. I enjoyed their love story and how it developed until the end. Another thing was how they used the I.A. of Lucia to develop her character, as her behavior in battles changed as the story move forward. Also the fact that her main priority in healing your party members was Hiro first before the others and that she had infinite M.P to cast any spell she wanted.

When Nall start the talk with Ruby about how their lifespan is different from their human friends it was so sad. And after losing several love ones it made me feel sad for someone in Nall's situation.

“Overlooked” is certainly the right word here. I loved playing Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue on my PlayStation back in the day. So much cool free stuff they gave you too like the cloth map really got my adrenaline pumping for a fun (and oftentimes dark) fantasy outing. I haven’t played them in forever but there are plot points and moments between the characters that I will never forget. The best sleeper RPGs that nobody played

I would say yes, for one simple reason only. Every time someone on YT has an hour to talk about the Lunar series, they will spend 59 minutes talking about Silver Star, the story, the characters, the music, the level design, the battle system, the emotions, the Working Designs box with all the stuff, and one minute being like "oh, and also check out Eternal Blue, it's every bit as good as the Silver Star, it's so amazing". Well, if it is equally amazing to Silver Star, why don't you talk 30 minutes about the first game and 30 minutes about the second game? I haven't played any of them, but I feel like I know everything about Silver Star and barely anything about Eternal Blue. So, yeah - overlooked and great. Even overlooked because it's great, however paradoxical it may sound. Thanks for the video, I'll finally get to know something about this game.

I thought Eternal Blue was so much better. Lucia is with you most of the game in Eternal Blue, while you only get to control Luna during the beginning of Lunar 1. The story of Lunar 1 is so cliche and predictable "collect X number of Y items." Lunar 2's story feels unique. The Lunar 2 characters are older and more mature and don't feel like a bunch of kids on a make believe quest.

I was like the only person I know that, I think even still that I've met, that had a Sega CD when I was kid. I remember wanting this game(The Silver Star) so bad. I was completely obsessed with Shining Force II, and I just could not believe the cut scene work I got a glimpse of on commercials for this game. Never got it though, and still to this day never played it. It kinda haunts me, because I remember this weird attachment to how awesome I though the character designs looked from such a young age. Makes the memories feel different somehow.

I loved Lunar 2 when I first played it on Sega CD almost 30 years ago now. I just played about an hour of the remake on PS1. A couple of things I noticed right away were how good the voice acting and anime cut scenes are. They really bring the characters to life. The music is also noticeably good. I don’t play a lot of RPGs, so I’m not sure if any others do these three things as well as Lunar 2.

Awesome game that I loved to play on PlayStation 20 years ago. The story is amazing, grabs you attention and it's very long for an RPG (we had 3 cds for the entire game). I tried playing this again a few years ago, but since we needed some grinding in some stages of the game, then I decided to stop. Anyway, it's worthy your time at least once.

Best part of Lunar 2 EBC and probably my second favorite video game moment of all time definitely has to be meeting Nall and the Dragon Kids. That small chapter captures so many moments and emotional beats all in one place that connects gaming and literary generations. Some of my favorite things include: Nall saying that the kids are sent back to Meribia once they're taller than him. This is such a cheesey thing to say, but it's so powerful when you can deliver a line like this in absolute earnest to kids who are given a chance at a better future when they had none before. Contrasting this outlook of growth to the manipulation of the Shadow Dragon Cult gives Jean's arc so much weight in the story and serves as a throwback to just how much of a Hero Nall is in his own right. Nall's loneliness. The player might be coming from a back to back run of Silver Star and Eternal Blue so the passage of time between the stories is very difficult to conceptualize, but for Nall, it's been almost a thousand years since the passing of his best friend. When I played this game as a teenager I simply couldn't come to terms with kind of emotional impact of this arc, but the older I get, the more weight the small moments when Nall is alone thinking about his reason for living cuts so deep. He's Japan's best take on the Eternal Child, or "Peter Pan" archetype and probably the only one I've encountered that plays the trope to its conclusion with all of the bittersweetness that entails. Dragons, gods and goddesses, all of these beyond mortal beings becoming cripplingly lonely when we consider them in human terms, it's why Althena's choice to become human seems almost natural. Game Arts does a pretty good job with this across its games, but I think in this particular part of EBC it really stands out, but they're just good at being earnest in their writing. This is a moment in the game that's tropey and perfectly captures the duality of the light and dark aspects of the world and games of Lunar. But a lot of the referential or meta humor really drops off in this section, it's a moment for the kids, and at the same time a moment for those who take care of those kids. It's a moment that deserves seriousness and should foster hope, and it does all of that. Lunar Eternal Blue is a seriously great game, great to see you cover it in a way it deserves.

I can agree this is another RPG classic that should not be forgotten. I gotta admit though, I like Silver Star Story more than Eternal Blue in terms of story, character and romance. Sure I definitely played this and had fun, but I played Silver Star Story more often than this.

I remember Gaylian! I gotten and played SSS on a whim by accident and came realize the game was kinda back dated a little and quite different from the other famous rpg like FF and DQ. It feels more tribal yet kinda a mix of Tales and Secret of Mana. I was amazed and felt in love with the rather long anime cut scene which wasn't very common practices during that time for rather un famed game. Boat Song immediately made me felt in love with Luna and The OP song of the game were really something. The game itself was so so but story and music did stuck in my memory. Overall it wasn't Triple A or box office boom but it successfully leave a stamp in gamer's mind with good arts of anime and rather catchy music and songs. EB too made me felt for Lucia. The song EB wasn't as sweet (feels of first love) as Boat Song but it still give me that nostalgic moment. The games characters like Mia, Jessica...etc really have the waifu feels. It is classic for sure, not wow but more like a special cup of tea you drank before and won't forget the taste and smell ever. Somehow EB link me to a certain part in DQ 7 which I don't know why lol it is especially the plant attack part where the dancer appears to help the party. PS, do you guys have the full version of Boat Song? I had it once I downloaded 15+ years ago but lost in the process of changing PC. It was really good and I hope to find it again. I think the singer is Genie something lol~~~

My father borrowed a Sega CD system from his work friend in 1997 for my brother and I ( I was 7 years old), this and lunar silver star were 2 of the many games that came with it. I remember being completely entranced and obsessed with everything about the games. I played silver star more times total, but EB was visually more impressive with a deeper combat system. They definitely started my love of RPG's, and I've honestly never played one since that had as big as impact on me as these 2 games. A few years ago I ordered both Playstation versions having never played them, loved them both. I've never met anyone in person who had ever played these games or even heard of them, such a shame!!!
@Crim_Highwind3 жыл бұрын
Hands down this is my number 1 on my list of all time greatest rpgs I've played. I can still remember the sense of awe and wonder I was left with when I first booted it up on my playstation. Even though the game was sprite based, it did a great deal to distract you from those "low" graphics with it's beuatifuly crafted music, and cutscenes as well as a LOT of voice acting which was well done and unheard of at the time of its release. Ghaleon was my favorite returning character as well, especially once he sees the folly of his ways and decided to join you instead of being an enemy. The building love story between Luna and Hiro are to this day still one of the best build ups in RPG history and its done in a very genuine way. Overall I give this game a 9 out 10 and that is coming from someone whose main gaming experience is in RPGs, MMORPGS, and TRPGS.

Definitely an underrated series, the story may be cheesy by modern standard, but it's presentation back then was top notch. To top it off, the Japanese version had some of the biggest names in the voice acting industry that provided their voices for the characters, you just know it's got to be a high level production that resulted in nothing but the utmost quality and ultimately made it's mark in JRPG history Gameplay wise it's every bit as improved than the original, with expanded movesets. One aspect of Lunar's gameplay is that enemies and bosses will always telegraph what their next attack is based on their current animation, essentially giving you advance warning of what's to come and allows you to prepare accordingly
