Do U honestly believe "the model" is still more than 40 years ahead of anyone ?? WRONG..The pet shop boys first of all have NEVER been influenced by Kraftwerk, PERIOD...All Kraftwerk does, is blips, pops, unsmooth, lame flute usage, rigid, mechanical, and no chords ever used..Chords make music beautiful....Kraftwerk never uses chords, cuz they have no idea how to make beautiful music....PATHETIC...Even, DM, new order, electronic, tears for fears OBLITERATE them..U can take that to the bank :(:( I have just named 5 groups/duos, who MOST PEOPLE will agree Kraftwerk SUX THE BIG DICK...I hope U at least give what I say just a little thought and U will realize kraftwerk SUX, compared to these artists !! Tears for fears and the pet shop boys are the 2 duos who make EXTREMELY beautiful music...Again, kraftwerk doesn't have the TALENT to make ONE beautiful song...Not being a jerk, just telling U how much kraftwek SUX, w/ the truth :):)

Let's not forget Karl Bartos wrote Kraftwerk's best songs. He got too little credit for this even back then and also do now. He wrote The Model, Computer Love, The Telephone Call, Neon Lights and The Robots, Tour de France etc. All Kraftwerk members are heroes to me, but Karl will always be number one to me since he wrote the songs that really made me love the band and the songs are still living the Kraftwerk life although he has not been in the band for 30 years.

Must have been 1979, as this is imprinted on the J-card of the TDK "D" cassette I recorded this song to: I was nailed to the ground... this was the first ever synth song I ever heard, and I was just 9 years old... I was SO nailed that I nearly forgot to press PLAY and RECORD on the old Philips radio recorder we had in those days... but that was the beginning! I still have that cassette tape... Till today I never forgot or got bored from synth music.... Kraftwerk started it all with this sublime track!

I love Kraftwerk, because of the lyrics; "She's a model and she's looking good." Shakespeare, take that!

To be fair, they wrote all the lyrics on this album to work in German and English so probably had to use a bit of license

Most people don't even realize Kraftwerk started in the 1970s. Whilst they weren't the fathers of electronica they most certainly helped define it.

We can probably thank Wendy Carlos for electronica. Her work on the Clockwork Orange soundtrack really sets the stage for electronica.

My sister was discovered when she was in high school. She did some local work then was offered a contract with the top modeling agency in the world at that time. She graduated early and moved to New York. She spent a lot of time in Europe. When she came home for a visit she introduced me to this crazy new music that I had never heard before, but immediately fell in love with. This was in the early 80’s
