Concrete Masonry Units, often referred to as CMU or Concrete Blocks, are a common building material used in many applications. Unfortunately, these materials have variable porosity which makes waterproofing them very difficult, sometimes requiring multiple call-backs to fully waterproof a structure. Due to the high variability in block, the following procedure is not guaranteed to provide a waterproof structure but, Xypex’s experience is that this assembly has a very high success rate in most filled-block installations. The following steps can be applied on the positive or, more commonly, the negative side to waterproof CMU walls.

I have a masonary wall that has been leaking water for years. I hired someone to clean the wall because I had used stuff that didn't work. This product is absolutely wonderful. During the summer, I followed the directions and used a heavy brush to smear the concrete on and despite the heavy rain that fall, the whole room for the first time in years has been completely dry.
