I have finished the Inktober Tangles for 2021 and I really enjoyed the challenging myself again! I learned a lot, gained friends and subscribers, and had a lot of fun. But I’m happy to be back to creating my regular videos. Today I’m showing the pattern Y-Knot, which is like crossed ribbons, and we’ll also use Porcelain and Meer.
In the video I mentioned a class that I took called “MapTangling” by Nancy Daumnauer, CZT. Here’s a link to her website with more information: www.linedotcal...
Patterns used today are:
Y-Knot by HyunJu Park, CZT
Porcelain by Dina Schaffer, CZT
Meer by Zentangle, Inc.

Good morning, Barbara, I've been following you (subscribed) for a while. I always draw along with you.....many times, with the volume off while I draw in front of the TV while my husband watches TV. I always enjoy your concise explanations....especially so today with Y-Knot using the "Y" method. The Map Tangling is very intriguing for me. I will certainly look into that technique!!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful art with all of us! Great talent. -Angele 💝

Beautiful and inspiring. Do you have video on how you drew the horizontal - vertical Y-Knot?
@notperfectzen
@notperfectzen 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Christine! I'm sorry but I don't. I cut out a square piece of cardstock for the size of the center "knot", then I turned it so that the corners pointed up & down. Then I outlined the square where I wanted it. Hopefully, that makes sense. If not, email me at notperfectzen@gmail.com and I'll send you a photo.

Barbara… BY GOLLY I GOT IT! I was able to draw the the horizontal-vertical Y-Knot. Yay😁! My first attempt was freehand and it didn’t workout. So I watched your video again and followed your instructions and used a smaller square (tile) for placement which helped me. I used a bijou tile as a placement guide. I set it on point on the horizontal and vertical lines. As matter of fact I traced the bijou tile very, very lightly and marked my placement dots. I then erased only the portion of the lightly traced lines on the right-side of the placement dots and followed the rest of steps to finish drawing Y-knot. In future and depending on the size of the Y-Knot I’ll probably pencil-in the smaller square. BTW…guess I am going to eraser jail! 😂😂😂

I just saw your email with the pencil drawing and you did great! I do the same thing - try to work things out in pencil, and then erase. So far, the Zentangle police have not come to my door! LOL! If you've watched other videos, you know I don't mind using an eraser. Thanks so much for sharing the photo and letting me know what you did. I'm really happy that you figured it out. Great job!! 😊

If you really don't like a pattern, just try something else. I've thrown away many frustrating tiles and vowed not to try a certain pattern again. Zentangle is for the Zen, not for stress. :)
