I love all his work. And just because the hip hop phase doesn't suit you, doesn't mean it was horrible. Maybe to you, but all I heard was his message then, and that's why I continued to like him so much. His live versions of the What's My Name? album sound better than the studio, which I just got of iTunes. Especially on Gravity. The studio sounded so fake. But in the live, he had much more power in his songs.
