Cute stuff! It definitely does remind me of the late 90's and 2000's. The flip phones, rhinestones, cell phone charms, and even the droopy knee-highs that was a trend among middle and high school girls in Japan. I wish I would have gotten those stuff too! Especially since smart flip phones like the Motorola Razor revival and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phones bring the best of the past and the present! I can't afford one though 😥. The style you are mentioning is often confused for being called Y2K, but in reality, it's not. Neither are the 2000's inspired fashion that we're seeing around recently. Y2K is the more sci-fi, futuristic inspired fashion that would sometimes be seen in music videos from the mid 90's until around 2001 such as TLC's "No Scrubs." There were some people out there that would dress in Y2K fashion in the real world. I'm not sure how they made it work out in there lives. Not that I've seen it myself in person growing up in the 90's. I'm not sure if there's an official name for this, but it's definitely from the time period that Y2K was around. It's more inspired by how late 90's/early 2000's fashion was like, more specifically in this case on how it was in Japan at the time. Some of it, like the tiny illustration of Hello Kitty in the fake flip phone that had her wearing a cherry hair accessory, does remind me of that time during my pre-teens and early teens when I started being more aware of and got into Hello Kitty and the other Sanrio characters. By the way, the flower that the Hello Kitty Keychain plushy is wearing is called a hibiscus. Hope this helps!
