One of the biggest reasons I love your reviews Dan is because you never HATE on things (extremely rare exceptions notwithstanding! - hey, you’re human like the rest of us 😉), you always reason your criticisms with clear, mature, critical thinking…and it’s genuinely so refreshing when evisceration is the internet mainstay.

Precisely this. People can like and dislike what they want (and even for “no reason” so to speak), but Dan is articulate about why he likes or dislikes a piece of film without the vitriol which is, as you put it, refreshing in a place that so seems to thrive on it.

Yes, this might be the worst movie A24 has ever produced. While I understand that not everyone is a fan of A24's work, I’ve always admired their higher standards and artistic vision, especially compared to Blumhouse, which often feels like it operates with minimal standards. This film, however, felt incredibly cheap and uninspired-so much so that if I hadn’t known it was from A24, I would never have guessed it.

To stay spoiler free I'll just say I'm middle-finger guy at the end of the film. We shot in the Maplewood NJ area back in May of last year for 2 days and as a lower budget film it was a really good experience. You never know what to expect in cases like this but crew and cast legit enjoyed being there despite the overnight shoots we had to do and Rachel Zegler & Jaeden Martell were 100% chill. Plus my wife still uses the A24 water bottle they gave us.

As someone who was a freshman in college and a Computer Science major, Y2K was a real thing that filled me and my fellow students with anxiety. But as soon as the clock in our computers ticked to Jan. 1, 2000 and nothing happened, we sighed collectively in relief and went to class like nothing happened. Life moved on. Anyway, I will not watch this movie even for nostalgia. Thanks, Dan!
