React to Alice in borderland and sweet home. They’re both super super good and on Netflix. They each have like 9-10 episodes with season two’s in the making. Alice in borderland is similar in that it’s survival by playing games, but the storyline is much different. Sweet home is more on the apocalyptic side but still really really good. Sweet home is Korean like squid game and Alice in borderland is Japanese (and please watch Alice in borderland with subs cuz the dub is atrocious). 10/10 highly recommend. I do think squid game and sweet home are more on the gory side in terms of blood and stuff and Alice in borderland is more stress lol

The policeman is beautiful, but the VIP just sees him as a toy/thing/object, so I don't identify with him at all. Fun Fact: The fifth game's glass bridge is stationed 1.5 meters above ground and contained real tempered glass panels that would actually fall off when the actor steps on it. Even if the fall is much shorter than what's shown in the final product, the actors were still terrified of crossing the bridge.

It's just funny to me that was the main point of contention because everyone else complains about how the VIPs sounded like cartoon characters. It didn't bother me, they're supposed to be over the top villains and it seems like you're both used to Asian dramas not really concerned with directing American actors. Great reactions!

Because there was an obvious comparison. Front Man is not a native speaker of English and yet he was able to deliver the proper tone, the emotion to his english lines. Here we have the VIPs, native speakers of English and yet they sound so scripted. It's not the language thats the issue, its really the acting.

The games were never fair to begin with. The honeycomb game was a blind guess what shape to pick with no information given whatsoever. 25% chance for the easiest triangle shape. they rigged the food rations to cause a fight at night time. another instance where the physically stronger, younger are at an advantage. different from tug of war this was fighting with your bare hands putting people who killed people before like deok-su and his thugs at an advantage. the bridge game was literally pure luck 50/50 for each glass tile. the organization represents late stage capitalism, the illusion of fairness when the privileged will always be favored and the less fortunate kept at rock bottom.

I've been commenting this all over! Yes! The whole point of the show was to expose how this "fairness" is an illusion. It's what the elite 1% convince society to believe, in order to maintain the status quo. But there is no egalitarian system where competition is built in. Capitalism is set up such that profit, greed, exploitation, selfishness/individualism, elitism, corporatism, feudalism, monopolization, colonization, etc. end up where the system is led. Capitalism can't be fair, it's inherently optimized to give those privileged with capital and connections all the power. And in capitalism, power can be bought. It's a system too easily susceptible to corruption, even if it wasn't actually designed to do so. The sad thing is, most of us deep down know the system is unfair. But alot of people knowingly enable the system, bc they hope that one day of they become rich, they too can reap the benefits. Instead of questioning why they'd even want to be a part of a system that exploits others or challenging if having yachts & mansions will even make them happy, so many people have been conditioned to think materialism will solve all their problems. Pro-capitalists are people who bought into the lie, bc all they see on the surface is how powerful & easy the rich have it. Little do these suckers know is that the wealthy elite - while comfortable - also feel empty inside.

Tempered glass can support the weight of two people. Many people would not have died if a glass company worker had checked the glass and moved forward first. And even if the light became dark, it was possible to check by throwing the survivors' shoes to distinguish the sound of the glass.
