@Zack_Zander3 жыл бұрын
Well, in the first game, Max is 18 years old and that the game takes place in 2013 (which is when Max arrived back to Acadia Bay). Alex is 21 years old and that the game takes place in 2019. This would mean that Max would be around 24. Bit of a long rant: On the other hand, since there isn't any “canon-ending”, Max could either go back to have Chloe get shot or let the Hurricane destroy Acadia Bay, and it wouldn't affect the other games. Before The Storm is, well, before the first game. Life is Strange 2 takes place in 2016 (So Sean would be around 19 and Daniel is around 12) which doesn't have much of anything to do with the first game. It's just Life is Strange True Colors has Steph, who is a returning character from the first game. This is because she left Acadia Bay before the Hurricane hit.
@90sprinceofcrime673 жыл бұрын
Life is strange 2 takes place in 2016 I believe, so if they were to meet in 2019 Danial would only be like 13 which would make him younger than any of the possible endings but this could happen somewhere in between.
@90sprinceofcrime673 жыл бұрын
@@Zack_Zander isn't the canon story technically when she chooses Chloe over Acadia Bay? That's where the comics picked up at least
@Zack_Zander3 жыл бұрын
@@90sprinceofcrime67 I kinda though that people would assume that the ending where Max would sacrifice Chloe would be the true ending. Either way, none of the three games are connected (excluding Before the Storm which is before the first game). At least not as drastic. And the most that I’ve seen would be Steph from the first Life is Strange returning in Life is Strange: True Colors, which has a reason.
@90sprinceofcrime673 жыл бұрын
@@Zack_Zander their connected enough. We know they all exist in the same world, Sean knows what happened to Arcadia bay and characters from past games show up in the next series. Max has probably heard of the crazy stuff that happened in Seattle and probably wonders if any cases of people claiming to have powers are real. I just don't think Max would be the one to look for them if they ever met.

@gabewashere.andthere3 жыл бұрын
I have a theory, considering that Life is strange 1 takes place in 2013, and everything happens in a couple of days, i think Max going back in time so much (including the last decision, no matter what you choose) created sort of a rupture in space and time, originating a timeline where basically the story repeats itself. What i mean is that Max accidentally creates this "rupture" in space and time where big events took place, and those big events are the exact same thing that happened to her in the bathroom (Getting pushed to the edge by a very stressful situation that end up with the character having a power). In Max's case was saving Chloe, and having the power to rewind time, in Daniel's case, seeing his dad getting shoot triggered his telekinesis, and with Alex, at seventeen being abandoned and absolutely alone, created an emotional trauma that ended up triggering her powers. Max is time, Daniel is space and Alex is energy. And this is when i think things get really cool, the overall message of these games is the environmental issue, because everything before Max got her powers was out of balance, because Nature (Rachel) was killed. Meaning, Rachel Amber also got her stressful situation that pushed her to the edge and end up with her having powers, the power of controlling nature based on her emotions, the power that created the forest fire, and later, after her dead, the storm. Please keep in mind these are just my thoughts and a silly theory, don't take it seriously lol

@@gabewashere.andthere Rachel Amber’s death is very stupid to me if she had an ability how could she be murdered just like that? Is she unaware of her power or what? And Rachel must’ve died at the start of the game? Because how can that deer appear as a ghost before she died unless Rachel knew about Chloe and Max trying to save her how else would she be able to have the deer guide max duding the storm? I may sound retarded but I’m confused 🤷♂️
@gabewashere.andthere3 жыл бұрын
@@Usteo I see what u mean. Rachel do seem unaware of her power during Before the storm, and i think that's why she didn't survive (despite the fact that it was an OD, kinda difficult to fight that, even if she was aware of her powers). I think it makes sense that she didn't know about her powers, cause that would explain why the storm is so out of control in the first game, I mean, if she would've known about her powers, she wouldn't hurt Chloe, and the storm was about to take that whole town down. So I think, Rachel being killed unleashed her full ability, driven by the rage of her death. And also yes, she was killed before the first game, remember? when Max comes back to town she was already missing (dead) for six months, so i assume she was killed between the end of "before the storm" and the beginning of the first game.

I really enjoyed playing this, but at the same time I'm really disappointed they didn't commit to the episode 4 ending, "The kind of thing you can't undo" would have been so much more powerful if Alex unavoidably died, and the relationships she built through the preceding chapters became instrumental in helping Steph and Ryan delivering justice from beyond the grave.
@justinviloria52573 жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree. The Chen family all suffered and were denied the opportunity to have any chance of lasting happiness because of Jed's denial and guilt; that at the very least they were owed Alex as their legacy. Haven Springs also was owed the truth. I don't see a powerful narrative in having Alex die a useless death, when the majority of the game revolved around finding justice for Gabe's death. What, then, is solved by having Alex meet the same fate and fulfilling Jed's self-gratification? Would he have faced retribution regardless? Sure, I think most certainly the past would have caught up to him, but at a time beyond when anybody deserving of condemning or forgiving him for his deceit would be around to matter, besides maybe Ryan. And even then, having Steph and Ryan continue that mission and saddled with what was Alex's burden repeats a tired cycle from which no real winners emerge. Jed uses the excuse of the "undoable" as a grounds to justify his cowardice. Chapter 5 was a far stronger outcome to the situation because it shows that, while grave errors can't be undone, it's that very nature that makes them inescapable, especially when lives were bargained to buy the rejection of that reality. Relying on the constant crutch of shock value death to tell a compelling story, in my honest opinion, is not very strong writing. Alex wholeheartedly deserved to have that opportunity to decide her future, when her life previously was dictated by settling for less and being treated like and treating herself as broken.

Narrative wise it makes sense for forgiveness. But Roshi always talks about eye for an eye, and how he’s willing to hurt people who hurt him (in game). Both him and Sheera are willing to forgive him recklessly getting his employees killed, allowing Gabe’s murder going unpunished, and attempting to murder Alex. They see the nuance in his complicated history and actions. But they always clown on Karen who didn’t do half the shit Jed or John Chen did to the Chens. They claim it’s all selfishness and nothing deeper to her. It’s just weird how their morals dictate that a woman who didn’t want to become abusive or suicidal left her kids is trash while Jed who’d kill anyone who made him face the truth or John who’d punch his son in the face and abandon them because he couldn’t handle having kids are redeemable and deserve forgiveness. They had the power of empathy and mind reading with Alex, but Karen literally explained herself, but both didn’t care.

Great ending For my it's either 2>3>>>>>>>>>>1 Or 3>2>>>>>>>>>>>>>1 I didn't like that much the first game it was like a 5/10 to me 2 and 3 games were my favorite, my favorite ending was 2nd, the 3rd I liked the characters way more than the 2nd one, even though I liked more being in constant movement but that made me less attached to the characters, the 3rd game is the one game that I actually liked most of the characters, the first one I actually didn't like any of them.

Did you not know that Steph is from the first game?

@@Zack_Zander not until they mentioned it (it gave me Chloe vibes like they said tho) it was a meh character to me to be honest.

Now that I think about it, if Alex never came to Haven the only person in the whole story that would have died is Ethan, and even then that would have been a maybe. I prefer that ending

This game LITTERALLY had the best world building, story and although the choices we 50/50 at some point this game did not dissapoint. Honestly the first game was a masterpiece but this one took the crown. Both are even it just depends if you want to play the original game that the developers rushed the game out off but still enjoy a choice based game. LIS 1=3 and then 2 for my ranking. They did got the good ending at LIS 2 but god because of daniel that game pissed me off. I wouldn't say they got a W ending in the game here because since this game is all new I don't really have any idea what the other ending were or are. So given that the ending here was a very good one can't really say it was a W but wow. I don't think this game is worth a $60 game maybe if the price were low or maybe cut it $30 less maybe I'd buy it. But this game is a must have lol hopefully I can buy it soon!

oh no this is def the W ending. the fact that they manage to get ryan to back alex up was major because ryan cant trust you unless EVERYONE in the council trust you. so yeah this is def the best ending

i do think they could have taken some themes a little heavier (LiS1 made people cry, i don't see many people crying with this one) also the end of chapters are too abrupt overall, it's by far the most consistent game of the series, definitely a 8/10 or a 9/10
