Honestly, the fact this movie was so simple gives it INSANE potential for sequels. The Mario universe is absolutely amazing to work with. As a Mario fan I was pleasantly surprised by this. I feel like it hit all the right notes with being a Mario adaptation.

My friend and i talked about this: Danny Devito would make a PERFECT wario. Just look up that scene of him scamming in matilda, and you can just hear the wario. This movie is so awesome. Just pure, unadulterated fun. My favorite part was Jack Black's incredible performance and banger song, "Peaches". I also love the amazing animation, awesome references, colorful action, and great music and humor. Definitely the best film in Illumination's library apart from _Despicable Me._

They had King Boo at the wedding, so it'd be easy to set up a Luigi's Mansion sequel/spin-off. It actually seems pretty likely considering Luigi wasn't a big focus in this movie and it would be an easy setup for his character development. The only thing I'm not entirely sure about is what they're setting up with the Yoshi Egg. I would think something like Super Mario World, but I don't know what they'd really be able to do with that plot-wise. I guess the Koopalings could attack the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Bowser and kidnap Peach in the process, but I don't really know where it would really go from there. Would probably also make more sense to come after a Luigi's Mansion spinoff, if it's going to be both brothers trying to defeat Bowser. Also I'd really want a Super Mario Sunshine movie at some point, probably more than a Galaxy movie.

The movie takes place in 2021 or after. One of the pipes on top of their plumbing van was manufactured at the beginning of 2021. That’s why Luigi has a smartphone. Mario probably just kept the tv and consoles from his childhood. The brothers we probably born in the late 90’s or really early 2000

I had an idea for a SSB universe after I saw this movie. Basically, the original characters of the franchise first collide, trying to reshape reality. Mario, Luigi, DK accounted for. Yoshi is coming. Now all we need is a modernized Hyrule as the setting, Shonen-style teen Link, Zelda - AKA Samus Aran - and Fox McCloud dogfights over the “Triforce”. They crash in Hyrule while the Mario crew visits. Everybody gets into a brawl over what turns out to be Kirby. Then Sonic crew shows up, looking for the Chaos Emerald. All this leads to Ganon being unleashed from the Master Emerald. Oh, and a stray Pikachu gets lost in the mix. Your thoughts…

I watched this in 4DX, omg… it was fun af, you got the seats moving like a rollercoaster, mist coming in from the mansion scene. Even pushing flower smells in whenever a flower was on screen. Heck I even got sprayed with water.

Just wanted to point out how I was on the way home from grocery shopping a couple of days, sitting at a light, when a Harley with ape hangers on it and a burly black dude in jeans and only a leather bikers vest. I had my own music playing and everything and couldn't tell what he was listening to but knew it was bumping loud because despite listening to Slaughter to Prevail as the time I could _still_ hear his music combating mine. Oh hell yeah. I've been wondering when you guys was gonna react to this. This movie had everything I could want in a movie like this. I had a blast watching it from beginning to end. The musical score was one of the highlights for me. Not only hearing those familiar sound effects but also have such a lushful and beautiful orchestral sound was the icing on the cake for me. In fact, the whole soundtrack was a big old easter egg if there ever was one lol. Gave me chills. I am still in awe of the visuals and cinematography. I also like that it was not afraid to go kind of dark. It even had some reflective moments too. Reminded me of my childhood man. My only real issue is not seeing Luigi enough. I'm so excited for the possibilities of this universe now.
