@@AG-fv4yb40k mixes a lot of future tech and what is basically magic. The people in this world, rightly or wrongly, believe everything works through prayer. So, if you want your armor to be strong, your pray to it. Or specifically, the Machine Spirit inside of it. You would also adorn anything like armor guns or vehicles in holy scriptures and texts. But for these dummies, that can include like, some dude's grocery list from 6000 years ago, if in the time since he wrote that list, he proved himself a hero or a devout of the faith. The specific thing a Purity Seal is meant to guard against is essentially the corruptive influence of the Warp, a kind of x dimension plane of thought and potential, particular of creatures native to that place called demons (40k spells is daemons). Those demons are just like demons in earth lore, except they're a) undisputably real and b) grosser. The Demon was killing them with their fears. So the Veteran Space Marine that "chose a child who knew no fear" (who was Titus) was afraid of Titus being corrupted by chaos. Being corrupted by the dark side, basically. Thats why Titus was immune and broke out of the "genjutsu". He knows no fear.
@pub123 сағат бұрын
True. Although 1 slight correction, it wasn't a daemon. That was a sorcerer, which is a corrupted and mutated being. As this was an all humans cult of tzeentch, it was most likely a mutated human. We know this because the credits called that character a "sorcerer". But you can also tell because it's blood and body remained after being killed. A daemon discorporates after death.

6:27 You can tell they’re up against a Tzeentchian base cuz Tzeentch and his followers really like to screw with the laws of physics and science in general. Tzeentch, a Chaos God representing change and magic (sorcery), is antithetical to science and essentially completely unbound by reality; his power lies in manipulating the warp energies of the Immaterium (a realm of pure psychic energy) allowing him to warp and twist the real world and cause events that defy logical cause and effect, making him a being who can alter the very fabric of existence at will, essentially existing outside the constraints of normal physics. Tzeentch's powers often involve manipulating time, space, and causality in ways that would be impossible in our physical world, allowing him to alter the past, create paradoxes, etc. Tzeentch doesn’t really care about his followers btw. He views them as chess pieces to be used for his experiments and even entertainment.

These demons are the foot soldiers of Tzeentch, they're in SM2. The Astartes guy was basically the cameraman for this; the studio did the animation, but he lined up every shot. The guardian used their fears to kill them; the squad leader feared Titus could turn to Chaos, but Titus has no fear for the demon to exploit.

So the premise of this episode is that they are on an actual suicide mission. They are simply meant to let the ship above know where the relic of Chaos is but the sorcerer of Tzeench shown was masking the location. The demon tried to use the marines' fears to kill them, but Titus has none and thus he charged the chaos demon in his own mind. That sword he was dragging as a kid being a combat knife for him now just shows how insane the space marine transformation is on the body.

There's an extra layer of lore to truly appreciate the ending. The mission briefing said Mortality Absolute which means it's a suicide mission and the controller said "Die well brothers" after launching the missile from the ship because they're basically dropping a nuke on their position and they're not expected to survive the blast. There is a lore quote that goes "Only in death does duty end" so when the sergeant says "Our duty is done. It's time to go," what he really means is it's time to die. THAT'S why Titus says "Not yet old man." And turns to fight his way out and not accept death. 40k has an expansive and rich history that's just waiting for you to dive in.

For context about the hole. Two things could have happened. One is that it was a trick of the camera. Or two, because of warp fuckery (black liquid rising from the ground, or paper materialising out of thin air or that battle) gravity itself has been affected that allowed them to walk down the hole after a certain distance. For a blanket term, the warp is basically a dimension of energy. Supernatural and psychic phenomena can happen when that dimension get stronger and pushes into our dimension. This push can result in the laws of physics getting messed up and distorted because our dimension loses sync with reality. This includes gravity. Hence you could see the light coming from the hole from their backs. Because if they landed at the bottom, the light would have shown from the top of their heads not the back.

Stuff I can explain (correct me if im wrong) This takes place after Space Marine 2 The child in the beginning of the episode is Titus I think his story is When he was a child his planet was invaded and he used a chainsword from a fallen Spacemarine and would kill any invaders who got near The space marine you see after(i dont know his name) took Titus in so he can become a Spacemarine The mission that they were sent on is more or less a suicide mission since they are dropping into chaos riddled land to destory a chaos relic emitting warp junk, thus causing more demons to spawn 2:41 that statue in the back is the Primarch of the Ultramarines 4:12 the humans you see here are cultist to the demons in the land, the type of demons belongs to Zeetch, Changer of Ways 6:52 the demons here are Zeetch, via the bird appearances Zeetch can be described as a little shit, he fucks with time and space because he wants to. If you'd ask Zeetch "what time is it?" And he would saw "What is time, or what type of question are you asking out of all possibilities." 7:28 that old guy in the coffin is a Psyker, basically wizards, people who are born with warp powers are called Psykers and can use their abilities to ward of warp attacks that can do mental or physical damage to themselves or others. The old guy was brought wuth them to fend of the invisible attacks and shifting time since they were attacking a chaos relic. 7:50 much like Zeetch his demons can fuck with time, which in this cause slows down their bullets 8:22 this demon is using fear to kill the spacemarines, the first one i think had a fear of dying. Dont know the second one. But Titus's mentor's fear was he would shift to becoming a Chaos Spacemarine, since he was accused of heresy before this. 9:18 And since Titus has no fear he was able to kill this demon

This happens after the events of Space Marine 2 and is the special mission Chapter Master Calgar ordered Titus to take part in. The narrator, Metaerus, was Titus’ mentor and the crux symbol on the vs k of his power pack makes him a veteran sergeant of the 1st Company. The fact that Titus survived where a 1st company veteran sergeant and two bladeguards (Calgar’s elite bodyguards) shows just how OP Titus really is in the Warhammer 40K universe. Theory is that Titus is still being tested by Calgar to see if his resistance to Chaos corruption is somehow a form of passive corruption or something tied to the God-Emperor. Anyone who has beaten the game will know what the latter means.

At the end of Space Marine 2 Titus gets recommended for a mission by Leandros and this is it. And it was a suicide mission he wasn't suppose to return from, but manages to survive anyway so we'll be getting more from Titus in the future.

11:12 I will note that to a person unfamiliar with the Warhammer universe, it may seem so. But a person familiar with it can recognize the Chaos Cultists, and because each of them was trying to serve their god. Each of them attacked the Space Troopers with the idea that he would be the winner and the god of chaos would reward him. Incredibly filmed, I would even say “cinema”, I could be wrong, but it seems that on this project they called the creator of the original “Astartes”.

The Old Man who was pretty much Titus' father was afraid of one thing: that Titus would fall to Chaos.

titus: “let me show you the results of my rubicon surgery, mkx armor and fresh uncreased aquilon pattern jordans: the nastiest, filthiest, 96 inch vertical on this side of the galaxy.”

Sounds like Lupa may have heard if it already but you guys should absolutely watch the 5 part miniseries 'Astartes'. Made solo by one of the guys who worked on this episode. It's a classic within the 40k community.

Titus literally hear the Emperor himself during Space Marine 2. People thought it was Calgar who spoke, but apparently there was a mistranslation happened. That was just supposed to be "Voice" and not "Calgar". "Rise, son of GorillaMan"

as someone mentioned in the comments but these are Tzeneetch the ones u fight in space marine 2. the blue blood was that of tzangoors the goat men who fell to tzeentch. the man in the coffin was a psyker whose power repelled againts the influence from the statue of the Lord ofCHain.. in the game that giant ass bird Calugar fought in the end..... the black dude recruited titus to be a space marine. ... the thing that came out was a demon prince and after killing the psyker was able to affect the space marines. however Titus is built different
