It’s not stated why Kafka failed each year actually, from the statements that the tests are different each year and the fact that everyone was surprised they got to use the suits, I think Kafka was just very unlucky each year. Kafka says he never stopped training and it’s implied he’s only placing low physically due to being in his 30s and this new batch of testers all being built different

@@SoverineSR it's because the Kaiju slaying organization has become so good at evacuating people immediately when Kaiju are detected and then eliminating them as fast as possible, there's a whole sector of the economy that is just focused around dealing with Kaijus, for example there's companies that develop anti-kaiju weaponry and armor, there's companies that specialize in constructing kaiju-resistant buildings and infrastructure or buildings that are easy to repair or rebuild once they're destroyed, and there are companies for cleaning up and processing the remains of kaiju. Because of this the Kaiju have just become a fairly mundane occurrence, really the only threats they have to worry about are the numbered Kaiju, like Kaiju No. 8.

You guys were so close to the truth last episode but this one basically confirms it: just like their combat suits, their guns and equipment all use Kaiju body parts to grant them special properties and make them strong enough to actually hurt Kaiju. That's why Mina's shots made that Kaiju explode, she's able to draw out that much power from the Kaiju cells.

My theory is (i don't read the manga so im sorry if I'm wrong) the reason kafka couldn't draw any power at first is because he's essentially already a kaiju. The suit is made from kaiju flesh and muscles. There could be two ways this could go down. The suit becoming one with Kafka and him not using his power is just like someone with lots of muscle but not using them at all or because Kafka is already a kaiju this suit Will not activate much because it's like putting another version of a body that you already have in the first place. What i said could be wrong since maybe it's already explained in the mange but I just like theorising about a show i like

She's right, the strength of the suit AND weapon is based on how much the suit is activated, so Shinomiya at 48% or w/e will do more damage, run faster, etc. As for Kafka being 0% because there is no human left in him. I think that's probably the case, I've only watched the episodes so I don't know beyond that, but there is probably some "incompatibility" that applies. Like the dude said "never seen a zero percent" ALTERNATIVELY: It could be that since he is suppressing his actual appearance, its 0, so when he releases a little of how he looks (like his arms or legs) it will jump suddenly.

My theory is that there's a group that made the first kaijus with animals like fish and lizerds and stuff like that and then the defense force was made by the leader of the group to make weapons from the kaijus bodys and then they started to use the bug thing to target random people turning them into kaiju for more dangerous thearts to get a reaon to make more weapons
