I don't know if anyone told u guys this, but the first book is basically the Grimm fairytales but even more dark and with Geralt in then. The girl from the first ep in season one was basically snow white (she had 7 men with her), and this EP is literally beast, but with a twist from the author. It's gonna be very fun if they make every 1st EP these reimagined tales.

@mynameisnoonesbusiness44882 жыл бұрын
@@explodingjew8049 Well, good morning. You caught me at a good time. I should’ve taken a moment to explain the reasons for my reaction. In this case I think you deserve a thorough explanation. Yes, I am on fire about the Evil happening today in the world, but I still have sympathy for Fringilla. I think she has some potential to be partially redeemed and change her own life course and commit to do good in the world, although she can never erase the evil she has done. No excuses, but she has hardly had an easy life since she graduated from the academy. She was first abandoned by her uncle, exploited and abandoned by the wizard oligarchs, abused by the Usurper and made choices I think she felt she had to in order to survive; she did so by standing at the left hand of the devil rather than being in his way. She had had no good role models or influences for decades at the time we observe her serving as Emir’s minion. She could’ve made different choices, but would most likely have perished as a result. When she had an opportunity to exert her own desires and leadership potential, with some independence from Cahir and Emir, she began to do good. Of course her actions to protect and support the elves were also in her own interest, but this is not unlike any other sentient being. Unfortunately this opportunity was short-lived, as she was backed into a corner yet again. Cahir returned, the prospect of the Emir arriving materialized, she undoubtedly learned that the general planned on assassinating her, and she attempted to find a new way by going to Arethuza, hoping that her uncle would help her, and perhaps with recall of the offer of help from her teacher during the battle of Sodden. But yet again her uncle failed to welcome and love and support her. With all this, the need to survive yet again, with anguish and rage, she was in the most vulnerable place ever to succumb to Baba Yaga’s Temptations. However next season I believe she will have an opportunity to choose a different path. Maybe she’ll take it maybe she won’t. I am a woman, I stand in midlife, I have seen and experienced some of what she has experienced. So I have some sympathy and hope for her, as I see the beautiful human being deep inside her. I have discussed her character with other women of my age and we have a similar interpretations of how she has become who she is, although some are more sympathetic than others. Perhaps this will help you understand. By the way, i’m sure you’re aware, your handle on its face is rather inflammatory and murderous sounding. I assume you imply some double meaning, but that will not be apparent to the vast majority seeing your name. You may want to consider changing it, unless you are in fact a racist a*****e, maybe even a self hating Jew who knows. EDIT: Actually, having seen your channel introduction, I can see that this is definitely not the case. I really liked what you had to say there.

It took me a while to realize Nivellin in his magic manor was like a reference to Beauty and the Beast. What made me realize it was a video of comparing Witcher characters from book to game to show, it showed him, the book image was this infamous sort-of meme, maybe not meme but something you've probably seen online at least once, picture of a naked-lady riding a bear-man-monster thing emerging from a rather comfy storybook-looking cabin or manor and a foppish-looking guy running away towards the foreground from the duo. I was like "Oh, THAT'S what this is from? This is The Witcher? Huh, neat......OOOHHHHH!!!! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!!! I'M DUMB." The "......" is like the little dude in my head smacking some sense into me like getting the static out of an old tv, because technology was like that where a little violence got something working again, because I really am that dense sometimes and it took me a second, even after already watching this episode.

The original story of Nivellen's curse, the one from the novel, goes almost the same way as they did it on the show. The only difference is towards the end. When his friends, the "bad crowd" that he fell in with, decided to vandalize the temple, Nivellen did not know that the priestess was there and he did not know what they wanted to do to her. When they started to attack the priestess, Nivellen tried to talk them down and refused to take part in it, even though he was high out of his mind. But his friends turned on him and threatened to kill him, and ended up him forcing to assault the priestess too. It doesn't justify what he did, but it certainly adds a bit more context to his story. The show just makes it sound like he was high and decided to do it. Still a great episode, it is just a change that I didn't like.

@Yourmama.69yrsago2 жыл бұрын
Duny was the son of Nilfgaardian ruler. Nilfgaard in those days was very superstitious, and Duny was born cursed. Had the news spread about a royal heir being born cursed, his entire family would have been deposed from ruling. So the king decided to hand Duny to one of his most trusted knights. Nivellen, on the other hand, was cursed in his later years. He was born a normal human, to a wealthy family. To impress his father, he became member of a group of unsavoury individuals. Nivellen was a push- over. As such during one of his raids, the group came upon a temple, where his comrades forced Nivellen to r*pe the priestess. Nivellen know he was doing something reprehensible, but he wanted to impress his comrades. That's when the priestess cursed him.
