NAVAL YACHTS - FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO EXPLORE THE WORLD ON A YACHT

If like me you dream of cruising the world on a yacht then you can do no better than to read about people who have already done it as is the case of Wayne and Christine.
In 2021 Wayne and Christine took delivery of a 78’ yacht custom built to their own requirements and set off to tour the world. The yacht, and their story, is nothing short of awe-inspiring and you can read about it on their regularly updated blog - mobius.world/. Built entirely from aluminium this single screw vessel consumes less than two litres of fuel per nautical mile at just over 8 knots and has a breathtaking range of over 7000 nautical miles.
Their story is well catalogued and I can’t urge you enough to delve into the details on their blog…but I was curious about WHERE they built such a unique and efficient vessel.

That 47 footer is NUTS! It's literally perfect - EXACTLY the kind of boat I would want, not too big, not too small, just enough to live aboard - and the catamaran is amazing too!

Somebody a.ready said it, but that yacht in the beginning looked like a Dashew. The other one with the orange paint reminded me of Sarp yachts. Interesting company. The number of yacht builders in Antalya is quite impressive. I have my favorites like Bering, Damen, Mengi Yay (look up M/Y Nira and Azra), and Serina plus Numarine. Dunya and Alia could make the list as could Turquoise. Lots of great builders. It would be interesting to do an aerial view with all the manufacturers highlighted.

The "organge one" is the second in a.series of 78 foot from Naval. It's in the dock in Antalya right next to the Blue SARP yacht so the differences are easier to see. SARP is bigger at 85 vs 78 feet and glass fiber rather than aluminum. The range of SARP is about 70% less but then the target cruising market is also very different, nothing comes for free. Both SARP and XPM have Praxis hybrid drives fitted so their performance would be an interesting additional comparison. Hoep[ this is useful.

I think all Yachts have great interiors. In my opinion its what lies beneth the superyacht skin, like a 15mm hull at waterline and the 7000nm range , Hull shape etc , Another great vid.

There are two scrap Type 23 Frigates up the top end of my harbour, surely just an injection of a few bob and they would make a great explorer yacht. Get together with a few friends, say 250, and you have enough people to crew it and to have a whip round for fuel. They’re only going to go to Turkey for razor blades…..

is the CPP controlled by a logic computer? Seems like for optimal pitch you would need a computer to calculate it accurately.

It may give an appearance of being high above the water, but actually the weight of the yacht is mostly in the engines, so you shouldn't have any issues with stability.

Dear David, please be serious and acknowledge that Naval Yachts didn‘t do something special. They just copied the FPBs created by the Dashews. I know you are aware of that since you are in the business for a long time. The XPM is just a knock off. Good boat though but i‘m quite dissapointed of the missing credits to Linda and Steve. The XPM like the Arksen are shameless copies.

Mobius and Vanguard look to be an exact copy of the FPB 78, designed and build by Steve and Linda Dashew. Did this Turkish builder buy the design from the Dashews or did they shamelessly copy it and called it their own? And shame on you as well "Yacht Builders". You should have recognised this and should have given credit to Dashew. Instead you chose to ignore it! Either way is piss poor "reporting" on your behalf.
