If you want a true performance day boat then they don’t come much speedier than the 85 mph (73 knot) Midnight Express 43 Open.
In this in-depth walkthrough tour and review filmed during the Miami Boat Show, Jack Haines gets a close look at one of the most potent leisure boats on the market and unearths a surprising amount of practicality along the way.
The 43 Open is essentially a blank sheet of paper so owners can customise them to the nth degree. The deck layout, upholstery colour, gel coat, engine cowling colour and pretty much everything else is up for grabs, so no two Midnight Expresses need be alike.
The main deck is dedicated to seating and mostly comfortable bucket seats with thick loop handles for white-knuckled guests to cling to. There is a wet bar aft and a dinette table forward, which cleverly sinks into the deck when not in use. There are MFDs dotted all over the place so no matter where you are you can check exactly how fast the boat is whipping across the water.
There is a small cabin down below, best used for sheltering from the rain than anything else, but the separate bathroom will be a useful addition for long days out on the sand bar.

I honestly thought you were going to talk about the seats again just to have some cheeky fun because it's Miami; as an American, I started laughing before you clearly mentioned the engines instead. As for the boat, not quite my style. Oddly, I like my cars fast but my boats slow. That said, I would imagine that machine could create some wild memories.

Sparkly. Like a strippers bathwater. These things are so loud and fast. As an American who loves sports cars and exotics, you would think I would like that. I don't. I kind ofmthink these are nothing but tourist boats. They come down here and pay to take a ride on one of these that go ripping about 60 mph. Maybe see some dolphins. But pointless

Boat is ok but price is a complete rip-off. The markup on this boat is ridiculous. There is no engineering innovation or technology on this boat that warrants the price tag. Just a glorified boat that they slapped 4 motors on it. Bet you those seats are made in China.
