It's strange to read negative comments about this clever and beautiful new design from Najad. There's much to be admired. From visiting the factory I noticed the serious build quality, in particular the hull's massive grid reinforcing structure, far more substantial than others I've seen. And look at the size of the tanks - 370 + 165 litres for both fuel and water. That's 535 litres of diesel, providing excellent motoring endurance if needed, along with capacity for heating, power generation and water making. The aft cabin in the centre cockpit version is brilliant for a yacht this size, the V-berth up front is roomy, there's two heads compartments with showers and a stylish in-line galley. The centre cockpit version has seats that are long enough to stretch out on - very handy and not the norm with other CC designs. Najad are to be congratulated.

To a degree, I wholeheartedly agree. It's a really well built vessel with tremendous potential. And no surprise, Najad has built some of the best mid size cruising boats ever. Where it all goes wrong is the interior design. Najad has been cocking that part up for the last ten years, but never has it been this bad. We dont know if that port side straight saloon settee will work as a sea berth (doubt it), but let's give it the benefit of doubt and say that it will. That's just about the only blue water positive thing about this design that I can come with. The main problem is that there is absolutely no stowage in the saloon and it's mediocre at best in the cabins. Seriously, you could cram more stuff into the cabinets of an old najad 33x. Traditionally, Najad has always hated the idea of comfortable wash rooms on board. And this trend continues. So there is no stowage, no shower cubicle, not many places to comfortably sleep while underway... Point is, that all the potential that this hull and construction has is completely wasted.

Wonderful. Fabulous looking daysailer/weekender, but not something I'd take on a transoceanic cruise. Total lack of internal storage, no secure handholds below, no fiddles on any surface. Fabulous attention to detail if it was a caravan, exactly what you'd expect from Farr/Freivokh. What is it, a Hanse or a Beneteau? Not a patch on those older Nordic cruisers. You should do a vid comparing this to one of those, maybe a Najad 390 or something similar. Now, they were a real boat. Proper fin and skeg directional stability, none of this snap-off rudder stuff. Still, you can always ring BoatUS these days to get you home when your daysailer can't. Looks great in the magazines on the table, though.

Interesting comment about the problem with dual rudders. Never thought about that. Although. Should not two rudders be shorter than one? Also just thinking. Could they not be canted out a bit to provide some hobby horsing mediation? If the stresses would not be a problem on the rudder post.

Beautiful boat, but it bothers me to see spade rudders on all of these blue water cruisers. It seems unsafe. Am I being unreasonable? Are spade rudders being made robust enough these days to endure unintentional groundings and/or debris impacts?

Good to see Najad back. The old Najad 380 was, and still is, one of the greatest cruisers under 40". And it was also quite rare in the sense that it had massive stowage space and functional aft cabin in a boat of that size - and still remained absolutely beautiful from the outside. This one.. Ok, so it's more modern looking which to me, makes it kinda ugly. The new Najad interiors also aren't as cool as the ones from the early 2000's. The new settee style sucks as a sea berth. But what really kills this boat is the absolute lack of stowage space. Najad finally tries to make something that barely exists today, ie. a low-mid sized world cruiser and then decides that basically one hanging locker per cabin should do it. Nothing in the saloon, just vinyl clad walls.. And saildrive with that massive engine room? Geez. As much as I like that mainsheet traveller behind the wheels, that wouldn't justify a boat with the usable range potential of any other AWB at this price point. Sigh.. I wish the would still build the 380, just update the cockpit ergonomics to what they do now and keep everything else as it used to be. I'd want one. There is a reason why finding even a used 380 isn't easy.

And very cleverly just shy of 12 m, so that it doesn't require an operator's certificate in Sweden (only for boats over 12 m long AND 4 m wide).

Perhaps But at the Panama canal They measure the boat by tip of Furthest point ticking out the front tip (pulpit) to the farthest point Rearward, including davits and ANY objects attached... so 40 foot comes hard to achieve if they didn't measure the pulpit and dingy... just an observation can u say $4,000 Dollars?

In many ways I think this boat is a massive failure when compared to previous boats in their line. The engine room is great, there is room for every type of gizmo, watermaker, generator.. The fit is superb. And there is absolutely pitiful amount of stowage space. Deck storage? Nope. One hanging locker in each cabin. Absolutely nothing in the entire saloon. Just bare vinyl or whatever. Granted, no-one in their right mind would buy this as a three cabin version, so at least that would give you the deck storage. But still, compare this to the best selling Najad of all times, the 380 which they utterly fail to top with this one. That boat had massive amount of stowage, great cabins, massive galley. Granted, slightly limited in deck storage and lacked a proper shower. As does this one. But this boat simply fails to address the need for a well built, smart size long distance cruising boat. Compare this to, say the endlessly customizable Saare 38 as seen at dusseldorf and the najad starts to seem like a crude joke.

It's not designed for bluewater, rather for an older CEO with trophy wife showing off in harbour. Swedes are poor nowadays due to the muslim invasion, so it's easy to impress. Most boats are old from the 80s.

Suspect that's the base price. A kitted up Hallberg Rassy 372 is E350k so this must be nudging E400k. Not easy to justify once you look beyond the name badge.
