Thanks for this video. I just set up APRS on my new FTM-200 and the APRS beeps were getting to me, I thought that setting the mute on for the APRS frequency would mute everything, but not these ringers. The video gave me the direction I needed to dig up the APRS Ringers menu in my radio, which worked wonderfully, although the options are pretty different than what your radio has... Anyway, my radio hasn't beeped for a few minutes now and it's no longer annoying me!

Frank, thanks so much for your videos. As a New Tech who has just got this new awesome radio (Which does everything but make me coffee) your videos are the best in helping me to fine-tune my radio. You make a video the way I like my tech videos. Straight to the content with just enough background information. Keep them coming. Also, when are you going to do a video on the X and GM buttons on the radio? A setup and how to use video would be awesome? And if it's not too much to ask, can you do a video on how to send an APRS message from the FT3DR? Thanks.

This radio has an advanced manual you can find online which has a lot of useful instructions. But, mostly I leaned though experience and watching others use the radio. It's not easy to get all those setting right on APRS. One thing that I noticed when setting up was the antenna. If you are inside, the signal sometimes will not go out. Or if the GPS is not working well, the signal will not go out as well.

I am using the 3d at home as my node radio on wires x. Is there a way to turn off the end of transmission beep or standby beep. It drives me crazy. I figured it out on my 400. It can’t on the 3d. Any thoughts appreciated

A12 = APRS. 1200baud thus A12. If you switch to 9600baud it will flash A96... 73, N1QKD
