Many thanks for this very well produced and informational video. I've been vacillating between the 7250 and 100DR, and this video convinced me to get the 7250 for a base station rig. Perfect video on this radio.. I'm trying to decide if I should get it and watching you go through all of the functions and programming answered all of my questions! Great job.. it looks like a really nice radio for the money, Yaesu did so many things right on this one. I do prefer no music in the background, the excellent content is entertaining enough, it just competes with your voice. Also, HiDef video makes the radio look like it's right in front of me, awesome.. keep uploading these great videos. Ed, N1UHF

I bought one of those after a lengthy research and I get good contacts on the 2m band even at 50 miles away from some repeaters. I appreciate showing us , slow learners , how to program the frequencies. It appears that there is no difference in programming a Fusion repeater that a Non Fusion one. I travel to Orlando FL from Mooresville NC often and want to program all the repeaters down I-77 , I-26 , I-95 and the FL Turnpike. I still don't know what is the best software to program via computer.

The video seemed to go from you programing the Wilson repeater, to you dropping your call, where the display shows a " D ", off to one side ? Which button toggles thru modes ? I have not timed it, but with the 20ah battery I use, I can get hours. It wouldn't surprise me that when listening only the 20ah LiFePo4 battery will last, if my math is correct, about 15 hours. Press and hold the PTT while holding the PTT press the [V/M (MW)] momentarily Until the memory number in the bottom right disappears. 6. go back to memory and on that memory channel you will see both the + and - next to each other. Programming software is $50. Makes loading a lot of repeaters EASY. The program uses your zip code and radius you desire. Then all the menu options are easy to look at without scrolling. Programming one right now with software. Came to see if display would show both frequencies and names at same time like my ftm-400. Obviously not. Hope the the guy isn't disappointed when I return his radio when I am done programming it for him. Personally I'd buy the ftm-100 if I was being cheap.

@@WJ6FRadio No not really. When radios had like 20 to 50 memory channels and mono band; not an issue. But with all the internal switches and extra memory channels and FUNCTIONS, it is NOT practical. It is program software or I'd avoid this radio if I didn't use software. It isn't the friendliest to hand program. I made the owner by the software so I can easily fix any alterations he may accidentally do.I loaded the radio for a guy that couldn't begin to do it himself. And I filled it with lots of extra channels he can monitor, as he is using it as a base radio. Adding and deleting by hand in the middle of nowhere by the mic is okay, but not when you are putting 150 plus memories in, and I installed about 195 of the 199 memories. That is NOT a by mic job. >>>>> With radios like this and a person that WILL mess it up, I am not sitting for hours finding all the areas he messed up, when I can just flash it and put it back 100% in a matter of a few minutes.

@@joeglover8171 If you are using software there is at the top the ability to download all the repeaters you'll probably need. I always start by taking an image of what the factory has in the radio to start. And SAVE IT. With that image saved I then open up a new tab in the program in which to load all the channels I want in the order I want. Then copy and paste that to the image which I had pulled off the radio and had saved. Then save that image under a new name for future use.
