To be honest... Yaesu VR500 is overall much better than ICR10... And much better at HF than R20. If you don't need SSB - IC R6 is the best hand RX I've ever own... Even Yupiteru MVT7100 is not so good as R6 ... But... No SSB at R6 🥺

@@aj2isotadxing i preffer some telescopic one. You can adjust the lenght in terms of frequency. From other side it can be broken easly so Im using some flexibe Nagoya NA771 when use scanner in the backpack..

@@منوچهررمزیعطایی for R20 it's risky to connect some long antenna at HF.. it's very poor at HF and it's easy to overloaded it. Much, much , much better performance at HF is on Yaesu VR500 or Yupiteru MVT7100 . Especially last one you can connect to external long antennas.

@@منوچهررمزیعطایی generally - wideband antenna is good for sniffing what is going on around. But if you are interested in some specific transmission - DIY or buy dedicated antenna. For example you will not receive SSB amateur satellites by stock antenna - but with minimum 4 elements yagi for 440MHz you will hear it clear and loud. On top when talking about 2GHz - there is huge looses in the feeder cable. In my case, when I'm transmitting / receiving signals thru QO100 sattelite I'm using 433MHz - then close to antenna I have upconverter to 2.4GHz and downconverter from 10Ghz. If I would like to transfer energy with such high frequencies I'll loose more than half at the feeder. Other aspects are polarisation - Vertical or Horyzontal. If you receive signals starting from VHF it makes difference - at UHF and higher you must have the same RX antenna polarisation as TX. Othervise you will receive nothing even there is strong signal.
