The Yaghnobi people (Yaghnobi: yaγnōbī́t; Tajik: яғнобиҳо, yağnobiho/jaƣnoʙiho) are an ethnic minority in Tajikistan. They inhabit Tajikistan's Sughd province in the valleys of the Yaghnob, Qul and Varzob rivers. The Yaghnobis are considered to be descendants of the Sogdian-speaking peoples who once inhabited most of Central Asia beyond the Amu Darya River in what was ancient Sogdia.
They speak the Yaghnobi language, a living Eastern Iranian language (the other living members being Pashto, Ossetic and the Pamir languages). Yaghnobi is spoken in the upper valley of the Yaghnob River in the Zarafshan area of Tajikistan by the Yaghnobi people, and is also taught at schools. It is considered to be a direct descendant of Sogdian and has often been called Neo-Sogdian in academic literature.
The 1926 and 1939 census data gives the number of Yaghnobi language speakers as approximately 1,800. In 1955, M. Bogolyubov estimated the number of Yaghnobi native speakers as more than 2,000. In 1972, A. Khromov estimated 1,509 native speakers in the Yaghnob valley and about 900 elsewhere. The estimated number of Yaghnobi people is approximately 25,000.
The Sogdian language is one of the Iranian languages, along with Bactrian language, Khotanese Saka, Persian language, Tadjik language, Pasto language, the Kurdish languages and Parthian language. It possesses a large historic literary corpus.

@@KeyhaneBishomar No they are not, East Iranic is not the same as regular Iranians. Iranians don’t have the R-Z93 Haplogroup like Afghans and Tajiks do. Iranians belong to the J Haplagroup and have only 9% Sintasha ancestry. Tajiks/Afghans have 30%-50% Sintasha ancestry. Iranians are manly of iranian chalcolithic and southern Caucasus and Arab admixture’s. Here is your Iranian scientist saying any Aryan contribution to iran came from Central Asia and Afghans but it’s very minimal Iranians are indigenous to the area of Iran and Iraq. The only Iranians that have higher Sintasha ancestry are Mashadis and other eastern Iranians because historically the area was a buffer zone with Afghanistan. Iranian zoroastrians also have high steppe ancestry because they migrated from northern Afghanistan. But majority of Iranian population lives in western Iran and they are the majority kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWjdoqtmjrqJeNE

@@persiansoundsAfg No, Haplogroup is not the only factor to determine the race of a people. For example, some people in the Caucasus have the same Y-DNA as the Arabs but they have different genetic admixtures and they are two different and distinct populations as the result, the genetic admixture is more important than the Y-DNA haplogroup. Persians are one of the closest people to Yaghnobis and even they are closer to Persians than some Pashtuns. All Iranians are related and nobody can deny this.

As for assyrians you've mentioned , it's rarely close to 10% in some populations, mostly the part of population close to south west. Bulgarians are a mix between Bulgar Western Turkics and Antean (Godo-Southslavic with some sarmatian dna) Slavs... Come to think of it, Bulgarians closest relative would be Romanians since they are an Antean-Dacian amixture.
@ХристоР
@ХристоР 7 ай бұрын
@@l-nolazck-rn24 Bulgarians today are so mixed that there is no actual one "core" ancient population that can be identified as ancestor. Even the nomadic people who came here were probably an iranic/turkic mix. However, it is clear that the religion of the ancient Bulgarians was some kind of Zoroastrianism that was prevalent in central Asia. Contrary to popular belief, they were not Tengrist. Some of our royalty were called "Magi" by the Byzantines.
@l-nolazck-rn24
@l-nolazck-rn24 7 ай бұрын
@@ХристоР You can chalk up to them being of the multinational Black Huns though, and both Byzantine texts and genetic correlation does show that the Anteans were settled in that region with most Thracians and Bosphoric Greeks already out of the region. Yes some people migrated there but it wouldn't alter much of the main population. Though it makes sense that there is no clear origin given Bolghars would end up being more akin to a minority rule due to certain byzantine campaigns. Onto the rest. I'm pretty sure there is few evidence of the Bulgars being Iranic. While they may have had Iranics with them, if there were any left after the Anteans and Sarmatians moved west since the Bulgars didn't came from central asia but either a Siberian or European north. Either ways they would at most be related to a Scythian subgroup if not the Alans or Tocharians. Not the Sogdians or Bactrians which were further south. And lastly, many turkic and overall steppe peoples adopted Zoroastrian religions. Such as the Karluk, Yuezhi, later Hepthalites, Uyghur and Turkomen. I'm just overall saying it really is a stretch to consider them their ancestors, but I could have been unable to access Bulgarian research because I do not speak the language.
