“Kitty has to go” Honestly, that line really hit me. This has to be one of the saddest scenes in any movie, it goes to show that Sully cared so much for Boo and that it really made him sad to say goodbye. I could really feel that sadness in Sully’s voice. Sully is such a big sweetheart😢💙

Monsters Inc absolutely destroyed me when I was a teenager. I had a really troubling past and had suicidal thoughts because of a poor management of my feelings. This movie saved my life with this one scene: when Sully needs to say goodbye to Boo. Making the analogy of saying goodbye and not being able to explain someone you completely love why, shattered the hell out of me. Turning around to see my sister carefully watching the movie, and then realizing I was crying, made me realize the terrible mistake I was making. I absolutely love this movie now and is a reminder of why I should be careful with my feelings, and mostly my actions before doing them. and yes, this ost also made me cry without even watching the full scene, absolutely astonishing

I think the reason this scene is so powerful to people of all ages is because we all know what goodbye feels like--that loneliness, emptiness, overwhelming sorrow of the soul, and this scene captures every emotion involved. Plus the quiet piano and violins along with the hopeful-to-sad chord progression are impeccable. Pixar just seems to have an amazing knack for plumbing the depths of the inner being and making everyone look inward.

Monsters inc. The first movie that ever made me cry even as a kid. When I was 3 years old, I had the DVD of this movie and would watch it almost everyday. I didn’t really understand it much (because I was a toddler) but i loved the characters. To this day, I’m surprised that I wasn’t scared of the monsters in this movie as a child. Anyways, fast forward about 5 years when I was 8. I decided to watch monsters inc again because it had been a while since I watched it. When the ending came, I started crying. I was watching it in the car on a portable movie player and no one saw me crying because I did it silently. To this day I still cry when I hear this song because of how sad the scene is.

There's something about this theme that was always so heart-wrenching to me... The way Sully says, "Kitty has to go" reminds me of the way that everyone "good" in my life walks away... Everything I've ever had has disappeared and like Boo, I tried to open the cupboard, I tried to find them again, but... They simply couldn't come back. Thing is, at the end, she sees him again. That's the thing about me, I don't have any happy endings. I'm sorry to be so morbid, this tune has just always emotionally tormented me, but I still listen to it whenever I need to cry. "It's been fun." ... If it had been so fun... Why did it have to end? Words like that have been uttered to me. "Best ___ years of my life." - So why go? Hakuna matata anyone? :(

Un capolavoro. Ho 46 anni, ricordo quando lo vidi con mia figlia piccola...ancora oggi grande commozione sentendo questa musica. Lei sta crescendo, ma per me rimarrà sempre la mia Boo..

So many emotions. I remember my first time seeing this movie, I was probably 7 years old and it actually touched my heart when I heard this song. I fought hard not to cry in front of my childhood friends 😂. Until this day I still think it’s a wonderful soundtrack. I’m now a mother and when I think of how quick my baby is growing, I think of this song and it gets me emotional to think that she won’t be a little baby one day. Life is bitter sweet, enjoy every minute of it.

This song makes me feel like I'm in the hospital watching a really sick relative slowly pass away as this theme plays and near the end song they pass away and all the flashbacks and memories of the good times I had with that relative start to start to go through my head while the song ends.

There’s nothing else in the world that makes me choke up more than this music. I’ve never felt the need to cry when reading a comment section, yet here I am. This movie is magical.

True, it's too bad however that like how a protagonist is the last of his/her kind. I feel like I'm the only Pixar fan around here since I also felt like everyone else has given up on their Pixar childhood while mine's still alive :(

When I first heard this at about 10 years old, it made me cry. More so because it reminded me of my dog I had just lost a while before, than the movie itself. Well, about 8 years later I woke up to it playing in the room next to mine- and it just tore me up... It just reminded me of a girl I used to love (and was really hurt by) and how she would call her little sister 'Boo' after the character in the movie... It's beautiful music, but I can't help but be reminded of sad things when I hear it..

This was my favorite song when I was little. And to this day, it reminds me of all the bad mistakes I make and how simple and easy was. It also reminds me of my grandma and grandpa. It reminds me of a lot of things. and no matter what, this song will always make me cry. Even being an adult ( though I'm not one yet ). I will never forget the curly headed, energetic girl I am.

What the hell man, I know this movie since I was like 5 or so, when you're kid you often watch the movies you like weekly. Therefore, without any exaggeration I can say I have seen it at least for 50 times now. Me, my girlfriend and my dad watched it together the other day. I pretended to go to the toilet because no matter how much I try to swallow it, but I felt I couldn't hold it back and I didn't want my dad to see me cry
