When the WNBA first started, millions of people watched it, and 10,000s went to games. The audience was there and the league blew it. It's just now getting back to its original levels. Unrivaled was able to land an enormous media rights deal their FIRST YEAR. Hopefully they can keep it riding high

Hell, even up to this season they’re blowing it. The sun held their first game in Boston and it sold 19K yet it was not televised and there was no noise on wnba’s social medias. The only thing I feel like they’ve done 100% right was the all star game, after that they have a long way to go with how they promote the league…

Unrivaled will be a great feeder to Team USA’s 3v3 groups. It’s a very different game and we settled for a Bronze at Paris Olympics. WNBA will continue as the 5v5 league. Both can thrive. They’ve just gotta stop beating the crap out of each other. Someone’s gonna have a career ending injury before they wise up. Playing in two leagues just increases the risk.

The WNBA needs to break away from the NBA because the NBA and WNBA leadership installed does not appear to do what is in the best interest of the WNBA. The WNBA has 38 % head coach jobs filled by men to the NBA 0% head coach jobs filled by women. WNBA is saying they can't find 13 qualified women to fill the 13 WNBA teams head coach jobs sorry but I don't buy what the WNBA is trying to sell me. I found on the internet that "The rate in 2024 was around $350,000 to just over $1 million annually" for WNBA head coach salary. So the claims I hear that WNBA can't find qualified women that want to work for the WNBA Head Coach low wage job is I feel false. So let me get this you want women to use their hard earned money on tickets, gear, tv viewership, and other WNBA stuff but you don't want to employ women to be a head coach for women. Qualified Women have bills too and need to pay their bills too. So until the WNBA starts to respect women on and off the court don't expect my support. Fill free to wait on men if you want to drive up your numbers but I say #BreakawayWNBA maybe it's time to make a change. Candace you go ahead and be Unrivaled !

I agree with you on the violence. WNBA needs to start next season saying "You're not going to do that any more" and then insist that the refs enforce it. I don't have a problem with the physicality of normal basketball plays - rebounding, boxing out, grappling for an attempted steal, setting screens, etc. But I detest the violence by players such as Alyssa Thomas, Diamond DeShield, Victoria Vivian's, Brittney Griner, Marina Mabrey, and Chennedy Carter. Unrivaled has too many of these players on its roster, which is the main reason I don't want to watch Unrivaled.

WNBA can do a lot better...dump the commissioner and become more player focused; protect and develop the players; officiating has to improve...fair, firm, and consistent and do away with the "prison ball" euphemistically called "physicality"; a players ethics code is needed; and the best [people regardless of gender, race or orientation need to be tapped to take the league into the future.
