Something both my brothers forgot to mention is shes been lecturing in the university of garyounis in benghazi for over 30 years. We mentioned how she was like with her family imagine her students she was a chemistry leacture giving the most difficult subject but was passionate of how she taught espically to her students where she'd give extra classes and explain in details to students. I would have conversations with her for hours on her teaching and how much she loved it and looked forward to going back to but raby had other plans. The most selfless person i had ever met. اللهُـمِّ اغْفِـرْ لِـي خويلا سميره وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتََـها فِي المَهْـدِيّيـنَ ، وَاخْـلُفْـها في عَقِـبِتها في الغَابِِـرِينَ، وَاغْفِـرْ لَنَا وَلَـها يا رَبَّ العـالَمـين، وَافْسَـحْ لَها في قَبْـرِه وَنَـوِّرْ لَها فِيه

Today, I lost my dear grandmother. I still can't comprehend the fact that she's gone. She was the beacon of light in our family, devoting her life to Islam, reading Quran everyday and reciting lots of zhikr with every ounce of spare time that she has. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. "Verily we belong to Allah and to him we will return". Please, if you have a moment of free time make dua for my grandmother. My late grandfather just passed away on 11 June. Similar to your aunt, as he was drifting in and out of consciousness he kept asking my mother to pray dzuhur together and he wanted to recite the quran with her. My brother died last year from Leomyosarcoma, and it was sudden cause we never knew he was sick. Like his so healthy a few months, not until 3 months before his death, he got diagnosed with a sarcoma type of cancer. We were so surprised since, not anyone from our family got that kind of disease. After he got diagnosed, it feels like everything was going down :( There were no days he didnt feel pain. He tried to fight it, and did make his faith to Allah (swt) stronger asking for Shifa. However, it is qadr. You wont feel the sense of death, not until one of your closest family dies. May Allah grant us all jannatul ferdaus.

I don’t usually comment but subhanallah we are constantly reminded of death that it will come and yet we don’t focus on our deen, we leave the Quran behind, we delay our prayers. Everything about our deen we neglect. Subhanallah. This video really hit me, it brought tears to my eyes when you talked about what we will be saying just before we die. Will we recite Quran? Or remember songs? This was such a huge reminder even to myself that have I done enough in terms of my Ibadah like it scares me to think about it. Your Aunty is a beautiful example of a righteous, humble and caring woman and this should be an example of how to live our lives. Go apologize to your parents right now for all the things you’ve wronged them by doing. We’ve been reminded again today that death is coming for all of us, and a sign of humility (having a modest sense of self, acknowledging your lowliness as a human being before Allah) is being able to admit we are wrong, and not fighting in arguments even if we are right. Allah protect us and reward us for enduring our hardships while maintaining our faith and continuing to worship Him as He commanded of us. Allah grant us Jannat Al-firdaus and forgive us. Allah grant full shifa to Yahya’s aunt and forgive her.

But better to “embarrass” ourselves just a little in this life than to have to answer to Allah swt having not sought forgiveness for our wrongdoing from the parents we shouldn’t have wronged in the first place. You can say it in a text or over the phone if you find it too awkward in person. Just say “Mam/Dad I’m sorry for any wrongdoing I’ve committed against you and I seek your forgiveness for what I’ve done.”
