These area will develop with fancy roads but it will have no soul. The people are not going to be there and without people , you lose. You can have rich folk and fancy restaurants there but a country, a citi, an area in a citi is nothing without people. You can put all the colors and light but you cannot bring back the soul. Addis is fast removing the poor to the bringing in the rich upper class. I see you videos of areas like 4kilo where there is nice wide roads but only ethiopian tourists visiting the area or some local workers. It has lost the hussle and bussle factor , it has lost its character. While i admire the corridor development it has made a massive mistake removing people. It should have been done like aware even if it took time. These place will become like a ghost town. So much removed from there it will never hit its heydays where you can hope from one bar to the next and have a great time with your people. You will have expensive cafes there, restaurants etc. Look at entoto park etc, big beautiful restaurants with not a customer in sight.

I was born and raised in Piazza, Addis Ababa. let me tell you it was one of the dirtiest places you will ever see. now with this administration, things are improving a lot. some people might pay the price as any change will result in some loss, but at the end trust me Addis will be one of the most vibrant and developed cities in Africa if not in the world. what am worried about is our culture. Ethiopia had conservative cultures for centuries and that is how the people kept up the religion and modesty in life for so long, but with much more development, the city might be westernized, and we might lose our ethics and values. I know we're already losing with social media and the young generation, but when the city becomes international center for events and all that, things will change immensely. anyways I appreciate the hard work of the government to take its time and build the city based on some international standards.

Why people strive to go to developed countries if to live in dirty places is a good idea. Please let us try to be fair before we blindly judge what is happening in the country. We don’t need to love the leaders but cooperate with the people who are happy of their new lifestyle. They are blessed if not all.
