The best video I've ever seen! I just bought my new kayak and at the same time my omega fishing rod holder. Strong, versatile and easy to operate. All their products are top quality.

DUDE! Take it easy with all the catch phrases. I just bought one of these still in the package for $7. Saved about $30!

Notice on the track mount there are two tabs you can flip. Pull back the inner tab to release the track mount and the screw in post from the base of the rod holder. It took me a minute to figure that out without watching him do it on the video. Push in the outer tab to rotate the base on the track mount once it is installed. You’ll need to pull the inner tab back with a bit of force. I was being too gentle with it because I was afraid I was going to break it. Really nice and clever add on to your kayak. Makes handling your rods much easier.

I bought one. It’s the best rod holder I’ve ever had. It’s worth every penny.

*Used this rod recently on a river hike in NH. It performed beautifully **enjoyable.fishing** recommend as I had hoped it would, on a whole heap of river smallies using tiny torpedoes and tubes.*

I picked up two from a retailer here in Sweden, I fish from a Native Watercraft Slayer 14.5. This is the best rod holder I have ever tried up to date. Started with Scotty and then I have tried 2-3 different models from RAM. Hands down the Omega from YakAttack is IMO much better. Solid build and good quality for a fair price. Thank you guys.

The Omega/Omega Pro our the most popular rod holders we offer and more closely resemble what people are familiar with as a classic rod holder. It is also our only rod holder that is compatible with fly rods.

Finally, a rod holder that holds an assortment of rod types. Will be at Cabela's on Dec. 1st to purchase one.

I am really thinking about swapping out my RAM rod holders after looking at this.
@briansisco66423 жыл бұрын
I put one on my passport 12 and had a 25” Snook rip it clean out of the gear track. Luckily the rod leash was attached to the yak and I didn't lose anything. Is there an option for a wider T bolt? I don't think this is a YakAttack failure as it was a replacement for the Scotty that was also ripped out of the other side 2 weeks before. That one cost me some hardware thus the leashes.

Great video but 1 quick question, my son has the emotions recruite youth kayak 6.5 and wants me to install a rod holder, will this setup work?
@YakAttackKayakFishing6 жыл бұрын
It would need some type of track for the LockNLoad base to attach to. Here is a link to the different types of track we make: www.yakattack.us/by-product-name/geartrac/. Here is a link to find a dealer near you: www.yakattack.us/dealer-locator-1/

For the pro can I take out the extra 90 degreee piece and put on 8 inch extension for when I’m down rigging on kayak?
@YakAttackKayakFishing4 жыл бұрын
The only difference from the Pro and the standard Omega is the 4" extension arm. For a longer option I would go with the standard Omega and add the 8" extension arm. What 90 degree component are you referring to?

I can't get the mount to remove from the rod holder. Another item I bought from my local retailer was an older version and I had to get mounting hardware. Is it possible the version I have is old and doesnt remove? Only way i can mount this is ti turn the entire rod holder 20-30x to screw it in, and same to remove it. I can't get it to release when opening the clasp.
@scubaman20034 жыл бұрын
Ok, more determination. There is a 2nd little clasp you have to pinch to get it to fully open and allow for removal. Glad I didn't force it and break it.
@YakAttackKayakFishing4 жыл бұрын
@@scubaman2003 The inner trigger is a safety mechanism build into the LockNLoad base. You must open using the smaller trigger and the outer/larger lever will easily open with it. Here is a video that shows a how-to LocknLoad that might help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZmQdHpumdaqrrc

Will the track adapter fit the versa track system on a tracker boat ?
@YakAttackKayakFishing4 жыл бұрын

@YakAttackKayakFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jose, the Omega and Omega Pro Rod Holders are compatible with the stock track on the Hobie PA 360.

Will this fit the rail on a johnny boat 100?
@YakAttackKayakFishing3 жыл бұрын
For the Jonny Boat, Feel Free, 3 Waters, and SeaStream the factory track system is much wider than anything else in the industry. You will need our Feel Free Track Adapters to make it work and they are much cheaper than the factory adapter option. Here is a link to a 6 pack: www.yakattack.us/yakattack-feelfree-unitrack-adapter-6-pack-adapter-plate-only-aap-1012-6/

do yall have an idea of price point?
@YakAttackKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
$30 for the Omega and $40 for the Omega Pro. That includes everything seen in the video. All you need is to add track and you are good to go.
@billmueller32513 жыл бұрын
How wide is the track
@YakAttackKayakFishing3 жыл бұрын
The orange track seen in the video is the YakAttack GTSL90 GearTrac and is featured on a Live Watersports L2Fish SUP. The track is 0.9" wide.

I threw mine in the trash after I almost lost a spinfisher. These are not rated for salt if anyone is considering.
@jaredtomanek23847 жыл бұрын
Looks like a rod leash would not be needed with these.
@YakAttackKayakFishing7 жыл бұрын
It is very secure but there is also a lashing point on the underside of the rod holder to easily attach a leash if you wanted the extra peace of mind.
