I’ve fished my whole life and since the invention of the internet and KZbin, I’ve watched a LOT of fishing videos. This is now my favorite fishing video. Um, this dude was in a kayak in the ocean fighting a marlin! I mean, come on. I’m not usually a fan of videos longer than a few minutes, but this is such an amazing event to have caught on camera, the length is worth it. Some of the shots of that beast jumping were just off the charts. The boyish enthusiasm of the whole group was real and entertaining. The danger of the trip back to safety added a valuable reminder to everyone to be prepared before you go out on a boat. Thanks to all who participated and contributed to this all-time great fishing video.

@@codemandew5627 it is totally fine to release fish with a hook still in its mouth. In Florida, you are required to cut the line as close to the hook as possible for a sawfish. The hook will rust out. Also, it will not prevent the fish from eating. There are some people with piercings on the corner of their mouths, and they can eat.

I'm in PA in the US, so my adventures are geared for fish that are bait size for you guys, but wanted to thank you for opening my eyes to the kayak world. Made some memories with my wife and daughter on our yaks this summer that I will cherish forever. Can't thank you enough. Making plans to do some traveling and put the yaks to work. Excited about the prospect of big fish from the yak.

At the end it got dicey. If you guys would have ran out fuel and light you would have been in trouble but it all worked out to be an adventure of a lifetime that one day not in a kayak lol I have to do! I love sea fishing, but I live in KY so we only get to the coasts every year or two. My biggest catch was a 12ft hammer head of the coast of Florida. It took me 3 hours to get it close to the boat and I was dead, done, toast... Great times! God Bless you guys and safe travels and adventures to you!

@SpyingDutchman Can't tell if your joking or not, but what do you do when you hook onto a marlin like this? Are you gonna cut the line risking the hook and excess like in the depths or reel the fish in and remove the hook and line from the ocean. What would you do?
@drjjpdc
