Thanks for the detailed video, it was helpful. Getting the holes to line up to put the bolt in was a pain but your video made the lock changing process easier.

Thanks! I couldn't figure out how to change out the lower lock tumbler. All done now, one key for both locks!

Helpful since the reason for the additional bolt with the center peg was completely lost on me and I just used the original, now I will replace it with the included one.

Thanks for the video. I was thinking about picking this up for my Ridgeback, but what's keeping someone from pulling out the retaining clip out? The lock would be useless right?
@AutoDIY10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to ask your question. I think you are referring to the retaining clip that holds the locking pin in place at the end of the rack's arm, removing the retaining clip would not unlock it. Once the lock is on the end of the pin the lock prevents the pin from being removed. It's not a perfect system but hopefully it is enough to keep an opportunistic thief from taking your bikes.

I thought the rack comes with intergrated cable to lock bikes? What prevents someone from taking your rack form hitch? Is there a lock that comes with it or do you have to buy it?
@AutoDIY10 жыл бұрын
This model does not come with the cable lock. It does come with a hitch lock though (to protect your rack from being removed from the hitch). Starting at 2:22 you will see that this cable lock kit comes with a second lock that it keyed alike replacing the hitch lock that was included with rack.

What's the red knob with the key hole I thought that locks to the hitch? Thanks for your help
@AutoDIY10 жыл бұрын
Yes the red knob with the key hole is the hitch lock, it will protect your rack from being removed from your hitch. If you also want to provide a little protection for your bike(s) you'll want this handcuff lock.
