I love how this song grows bigger at each part creating an ascending level of tension, wich goes with the ascending levels of tension of the game story , Id say the Western version captures better the general essence of the game itself and its world, But this one captures better the entire story of the game picking act by act right to the end of the game. I liked better the western opening. then i finished the game story and this one means so much more.
@charlescalthrop25354 жыл бұрын
I think you’re grasping at straws to be honest. On the contrary, I think this one captures the fun and ridiculous side of the game, mainly in free roam, whereas the western one captures the tone of the story more.
@MaxUltimata4 жыл бұрын
@@charlescalthrop2535 Depends on how you look at it. The song "Bubble" is about the culture of excess that sprouted up following Japan's economic boom of the late 80s, when everyone thought they were going to take over the world (Japan's GDP was the second highest behind the US). Of course, it was a bubble, hence the title of the Japanese theme, and Japan would face a recession in the early 90s once the bubble burst, but for the time being, everyone was riding on the high, especially the wealthy. The person singing the song (in this short version) is announcing their plan to take over Kamurocho ("this town") and forge their own destiny, and effectively sees themselves as above the common rabble that gets plastered in the VIP lounge at the end of a hard day at the office. It still fits for the game's overall story about a vicious turf war to control the entirety of an entertainment district during the height of Japan's historic economic boom.

They’re not everyone’s jam, and you’ll probably feel a dip/change for Kiwami-3, but stick with it if you can. Even the slow bits of 1 and 3 are worth it in the end Also 3 is the worst one in terms of story and gameplay, still a good story but it has some weird pacing and handling of plot. They're very distinct but are both equally good for completely different reasons. I would also argue the song being carried mostly by vocals in the middle of this opening feels off and distracting from the central media, whereas the English opening is much more consistent. Bubble is a lot more personal and in your face, and emotional, immersed in the hedonism of the 80s bubble in japan before invoking the direct emotional weight of the story itself. The English opening is mostly impersonal - a cold hard look at the brutality of the japanese underworld and the insane brutality that the pursuit of money causes of the 80s, followed by a more personal and "heroic" touch at the end. I definitely understand WHY people might prefer one or the other but I would die on the hill stating that they're both equally good. It's an extremely hard thing to put to words. They accomplish two completely different perspectives on this game in equally amazing ways, and neither is incorrect.
@zengate12224 жыл бұрын

I dunno, I, actually installed the mod to replace western one with this. Western one feels off to me, on the contrary, completely not matching with the visual part. You can't because this is for the Japanese version only due to Sega not actually owning this song as it was actually a song not made by the composers, but a popular Japanese musician, the games with intros all do this unfortunately since Yakuza 3 where the Japanese version is a song made by a popular artist while the western versions got a more generic sounding song that was clearly made with the intention of being the intro song.
