Lads. Please, PLEASE let Neil do the Assassin's Creed series at some point. I remember the first time he made a comment or reference to the series a while back, I think it was when he mentioned how in the original AC the Assassins had to cut off a finger for the hidden blade. Now, however long later, he's made like 10 different references to the series. It really seems like he is a fan of the franchise, it has really deep lore to explore, and it would give him the chance to so this long epic string of games like Monty and especially Chase have done so far. Granted, maybe I'm wrong and he has no interest in covering AC, but I think it would be absolutely STELLAR if he led us through that series.

Seconding the wish for an Assassin's Creed series. It would be a fantastic one to cover for the charming storytelling and wild lore and for the amount of frustration and mockery you call could level at the historicity and stupid decisions Ubisoft made over the years.

There's something about the Cabaret Minigame that I love which Chase didn't mention; During that particular storyline in the main game, where Kiryu is the manager, there will be a Commentator that will be present throughout the storyline and near the end of it, it is revealed that the Commentator was actually spilling the beans to Four Shine's biggest competitor. The person who revealed that fact was none other than Majima, with a little help from Youda (Who was in 0 alongside Yuki). As a result, the Commentator runs away and Majima replaces him as the new commentator whenever you play the minigame!

man i had gotten so used to whacky majima, which i love whole heartedly, that going back to depressing majima was a real shock. makes it all hit even harder.

Ah the missing Cabaret Club minigame finally touch on, yeah Kiryu gets roped into being the general manager, again. We also don't hear about Majima ANNOUNCING THE MINIGAME THE BEST PART EVER. Recurring theme in Yakuza is some business pulling the first dumb looking bloke (usually Kiryu) off the street to run things and turn around their troubles. Somehow this usually works, somehow.

Wow this is out quicker than I expected but can't complain at all. Fun fact about Ibuchi he is partially based off of the ps2 model of Takashima (glasses guy that Ryuji kills) since they got a full mocap and face scan actor for kiwami 2

I feel like after Alan Wake 2 and all that goes down, you guys should do the Spidey games, easier, more light-hearted, shorter. Plus, I always thought of Yakuza 0-2 as a proper trilogy more than 1-3. Doing 3-5 as the next Yakuza bunch makes more sense if you were to split the series up imo. But either way love the content, found you guys a few months ago and cant stop listening!

Good stuff. Maybe I'm wrong, but if i remember correctly, Ibuchi commits so both Tojo and Omi won't be able to find out about his plan. Also Majima walks away from a place with both Omi and Tojo guys dead, not a good look for a mad dog.

Majima gets his own episode and next Yakuza is my first and favourite after 0, yay~ (I did watch games before and eventually played them myself :D) I never found Yakuza 0 Majima that different from especially 3's Majima, it's just his perspective we see, like ace attorney games with playing as Phoenix and not. Also, MAKOTO IN 0 LIVED IN SOTENBORI WAITING FOR HER BROTHER AND IN 2 SHE WAITS FOR MAJIMA! 😭😭 Ibuchi's first line being about bloodlines is fucking hilarious when his voice is Dio. 😂

My only criticism of Chase's summary is that they really don't get across just how insane the vibes between Kashiwagi and Majima are in this game. Like, there is absolutely 0 doubt in my mind that they have woken up in bed together after at least one boozy clan function, and if it was revealed in a future game that they'd actually dated for a while, I would absolutely believe it. I really wasn't expecting that going into this, but the sheer amount of chemistry they have got me immediately on board with it. (And made me glad that Majima had at least one reasonably healthy relationship in the time between 0 and 4.)
