Id just like to say. Whoever made this part of this game deserves a warm pillow on their head for the rest of their lives. Its literally just getting hit stun trapped and combo interrupted for 20+ minutes. And why does Saito have like 4 invincible moves, a combo that you can block for like 3 hits and then can't block or dodge the last one, an invincible move that stuns, a lunge move thats near impossible to dodge, a grab that it tells you to mash A to get out of even tho it literally doesn't work, and the ability to dodge like 90% of what you do

@@VFG204 I think a lot of people such as myself find Yakuza 3 so hard because it requires such a different change in fighting style. When I first started, it was super hard for me because the enemies blocked everything and you could hardly grab, also the sidesteps weren't as fast as I was used to, but once I got down the method of waiting for an attack, side-stepping behind them, then comboing them it got much easier. I can see how it could be easy for some people with the sidestep then combo playstyle being such a simple and easy-to-follow strategy, but even after I got the hang of the game those IF7 virtual reality boss fights were hard as shit; that Lau Ka Long fight was hell for me and I'd take the prison break any day of the week over that. The strategy for the Lau fight is relatively simple, but because it was so annoying with three of him all over the place is what made it so hard for me. In retrospect the final Saito fight took me like 4 or 5 tries to beat, but I didn't mind it nor find it annoying because I enjoyed the fight and had much fun playing around with Saejima's moveset.

Along with the story, just the whole atmosphere the game sets up with the music and environment I find amazing. It took me around 6 or 7 retries to beat Saito in that final fight, but with that badass Rebellions theme playing I enjoyed every second of it.
@HairyJuan3 жыл бұрын
To add-on to the story part, the whole character arc of Hamazaki across Yakuza 3 and this game is just soooo perfectly done. A lot villain redemption arcs feel cliche in a sense where the villain just magically turns good, they really skip over the part emphazing how most of these bad guys only act this way because of loneliness, a lack of love and care in their lives, but in this case the game makes you really feel what's going on inside Hamazaki's head in such a beautifully simple way. He loses everything and wants revenge on Kiryu, so he pretends to be friendly to Kiryu and Kiryu trusts him despite warnings from others, only for Hamazaki to brutally stab him. Kiryu gives him a speech about redemption and Hamazaki even mocks it, but later you can tell Kiryu still put a tiny something in his head. Then in Yakuza 4 he again plots to betray and use the protagonist (Saejima) to escape from prison, and like Kiryu, Saejima puts his trust in Hamazaki despite his malintentions. With Hamazaki now gaining everything with Saejima breaking him out of prison, as opposed to in Yakuza 3 him losing everything from Kiryu foiling his plans and sending him to prison; just the simple act of Saejima calling him his Kyoudai made him break down thus beginning his redemption of his past ways, he decides to do something selfless for the first time ever and holds off the guards just to make sure Saejima could fully escape. Looking back you can really see that all Hamazaki wanted was a friend, someone who trusts you and shows kindness and care. He simply was a lonely man that never had anyone like that in his life, so he had no reason to show kindness, selflessness and trust to others when he received none. Near the end of the game, his arc finishes off in an amazingly poetic fashion where he sacrifices himself for Kiryu, the man that took everything from him, sent him to prison by putting unwarranted trust in him which resulted in Kiryu receiving that knife in the stomach, which began Hamazaki's whole character arc in the first place. The Loki TV series which came out recently also has a similar character arc that I was extremely impressed with which focuses on narcissism in particular. What bothers me often is that a lot of people don't seem to realize that deep down, narcissists are actually incredibly insecure and unsatisfied with themselves and act self-important, mean, etc, to cope for those deeply hidden feelings. The Loki series does an incredible job of illustrating this by having the narcissistic Loki fall in love with an alternative universe female version of himself to signify his gaining of self-love which results in the changing of his narcissistic and selfish ways.

Oh god, that felt good, a playthrough where someone actually knows what they're doing with the beast that is Saejima, instead of playing like you were expecting he would be a mashfest like Akiyama. I swear, some of the people I've seen play act like it's the game's fault they barely read the memos OR how to do the skills they were buying
@HairyJuan3 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly this part wasn't actually terribly hard for me because I just really liked Saejima's moveset. This is actually one of my favorite parts of the series, the whole atmosphere the game sets up with the story and music, especially later during the last Saito fight with Rebellions theme playing I just find amazing.
@thirdanimator33473 жыл бұрын
Try doing this on hard with no skills unlocked? No weapons, no healing items. Yeah, little image in your head when half of the guards use either grenades or katanas. Then Saito, you have to do a mashfest in the end if you don't want him to sidestep and break your back. I feel like a lot of the people here never played the game.. Cause of the fact that we read the memos. Why else do we buy the moves if we don't know what they're going to do? It's that the moves are weak if you don't have the proper upgrades for said skill, and chances are, you wasted all of those orbs on a skill like knockback or a speed combo. Then again, you have no idea what the gameplay is like, if you're considering it easy, which it isn't. I have played Yakuza for a long while now, going from 0-4 on hard mode. All of the Yakuza games (Besides Jingu) are very easy, just not this part, or Munakata. Now, on to a different term, you're saying a mashfest is not just using the basic combos, thats what a mashfest is.. Spamming the basic moveset, that's the only real way to do this prison escape without a guard or two immediately reeling their fists back for a fisting artist session with you.
@umpteenthreason96272 жыл бұрын
@@thirdanimator3347 I get it, it is a notoriously hard part, I remember struggling against it myself. But what i'm complaining about are some really bad gameplays were they just... clearly are not reading the mechanic of what they bought, or at least dont understand things beyond passive. They never once used a charged attack beyond the tutorial, even though, at least for me, doing those properly was pretty vital in this part, and most infuriating, kept spamming the tackle move once just using the basic rush combo didnt seem to work like it would with Akiyama. And then complaining that this session takes too long, i mean, of course its taking long, they kept using nothing but a low damage move that enemies can just block or dodge... It's one thing to complain about a difficult part, but its another entirely to complain while ignoring instructions and insisting on mistakes instead of improving your approach, like I've seen. So it's very satisfying to see it being played properly in a video like this.
