I'm not sure about kiwami 2 but 6's lack of intro was both due to them wanting to avoid the constant minor spoilers shown in intros and due to a fairly rushed development time.

Yakuza intros are life, so its a real shame that neither yakuza 6 nor kiwami 2 have one. Thank god theres our devilleon helping out and creating this awesome y6 intro which got me even more bumped up for y6. Cant wait for the demo to come out! Luckily i was able to finish yakuza 5 just in time so i can enjoy the story to its fullest.

I know replying in 2021 is a bit late, but Ill still leave my thoughts. 2:20 is a bit too long compared to the other intros, but I still like it. The interesting part is that the focus on someya is pretty hard, most his big moments, and for someone who didn't know the game, the tattoo reveal of Tsuneo and Kiryu it might look like it was Someya and Kiryu. An interesting choice to put so much focus on him, almost as he would be the main antagonist.

Can't say for certain, but I know people complain about them because they tend to spoil things. I'd rather have them and just skip it before I finish it though rather than non at all. The intro to 0 is one of the things that made me give it a chance.
