Also a nice creative hack is to take the full main melody loop, and start removing elements from it, and replace the ending to hanging instead of resolving, basically light teases. Great examples, saving this :) Thanks

This channel is so next level I spend so much time fast forwarding through tutorials to get the five seconds of useful information from videos with hundreds of thousands of views but your videos are some of the only ones that I watch all the way through multiple times to make sure I absorb all of the lessons Thank you!

Thanks so much. I like Electric Light Orchestra - Rockaria! The opera singing at the start foreshadows the storyline about his girl being an opera lover and the last scene in the song.

Thanks for this, it's great having you dissect tracks to show real examples. The parallels to good storytelling are impressive, you really are teaching the audience what's to come, and what to listen for.

Glad you enjoyed it. I really hoped that some real world examples from really good artists can help the clear points. ❤

I really like the way you use a literature concept "foreshadowing" as a musical technique. Nice one! I was wondering if you can create a video of your own checklist when you produce a song. (how do you start, contiune and end, step by step, that would be very interesting to watch and helpful for all producers/ producer canditates 🥰

This is easy, just watch the other videos in this playlist. A really quick and dirty way is to import the audio of a favourite song into your DAW, place markers for each part and make notes of effects, rhythm, sounds and or key the song is in. You can then use those notes and markers as guides for your own track or composition.

Many of the best DJ's used to craft little hints of tracks to come into their mixes, James Lavelle springs to mind. A good two or three songs in advance, a proper journey.

That is definitely really a very cool way of using foreshadowing. 😊

Really great video! The first song that comes to mind is Alice Deejay Better off Alone. In the intro and throughout the song it teases a few notes of the main lead and when the whole thing plays I feel like I've been waiting for it my whole life.

It's still an amazing tip! While the foreshadowing effect or arrangement isn't new, because I and several of my collegues at the local radiostation used it as backing track before actually playing the whole song from start to finish. In an a analogy with food, this can be seen as the appetizer before the main course. 😉 Thank you so much for sharing this and the examples in an easy to follow video!

I must admit that i approach intros and outros from DJ perspective. So the beginning and end are there because beginning and end :D Bad way of thinking i know but hard to forget as main hobby is DJ:ing.

Barry White would do this with soul/disco,making shorter repetitive loops of brass or strings before dropping the vocal bomb. No pun intended but he was really making Disco-Tech without knowing. We are all influenced by what we hear and that’s how creativity evolves 🙌. Fantastic channel btw 👍
