does the 'stripped down BASE' version of this lock (eg: model YRD256NR619) come =with= with slot for (possible LATER) insertion of one of their modules? or does it LACK that slot? thanks for info :-)

problem is no keyway. If the lock fails you are out of luck. Its also more secure because of this, but just be warned, these electronic deadbolts can fail

Korea already use this en mass for years. Going out in Seoul literally all you need is a credit card and phone, possibly just phone if you know you can pay via NFC. Feels very liberating.

No, you can jump it with a 9 volt from the outside.

There is a 9V terminal below the keypad - just tap a 9V battery to it, enter your pin code and get inside to change the batteries
