johnny opted not to go. instead asked greg to take his place. it was cool cause they played a lot of cvb songs in iraq. apparantly many of the older national guard and officers knew CVB.

david lowery replies: You are probably a decent and reasonable person. The air of anonymity and coarseness on the internet sometimes makes us say dumb things. "besides" be killed?! nuance. it's inviting to equate simplicity with truth. although life teaches us it is completely the opposite. nuance: our moral obligation as americans is to leave behind a civil and stable government. whether we were for the war or not. this is what these guys are doing now. you would have us walk away?

david lowery replies. yes i believe i live in a stable civil country. it's not perfect. i was not happy about the way we were governed from 2001-2009. one of the reason's i left santa cruz years ago, was cause i got tired people who managed to wear tin-foil hats AND be sanctimonious pricks at the same time. i got tired of people who constantly call out for civility and humanity on a macro global scale but can't manage it on a micro scale in their own interpersonal interactions.

finally let's talk about bullying. you asked a question, you got an answer you didn't like. i didn't go looking for you for an argument. you came here. you know what a straw man argument is? it's where you falsely attribute beliefs or statements to someone else so that you can then make them appear wrong ignorant or dangerous. ie suggesting that i thought 9/11 and the death of iraqis during sanctions was a nuance. classic bullying. like making the kid a "fag" or a "perv" before you beat him

websters: sanctimonious |ˌsa ng (k)təˈmōnēəs| adjective derogatory making a show of being morally superior to other people. you had to really dig through that 5:54 video to find the one sentence to which you could take offense. And then posting a loaded and hostile question here? well that would be "making a show of being morally superior to other people". sorry dude. i didn't invent the word.

tin foil hat: 1. 9 inside 11. by this you mean that 9/11 was an inside job. 2. you do not believe you live in a "civil stable democracy" i am assuming that by this you mean the USA. 3. you imply that myself and Liberals led the charge for the iraq war by saying "leave it to the professionals" were you in a cave since 2001? i am sorry you are way out on the fringe.. that is, you are in tin foil hat land. just embrace it. wear it proudly.

what exactly do they do for their country David besides kill and be killed in an imperialist, illegal war?
