Yamadori Larch Bonsai - Initial Design - Long Format

Finally getting my hands on some larch to turn into bonsai. Such a wonderful bonsai subject. I hope to repot this next spring. Thanks for watching go bonsai Canada.

Ya, I was debating. I ended up leaving it till repot and I find it add interest. The tree might be too mundane without it. What’s your thoughts on why it should go? 😀👍

The possible apex that Juts out to the right with a funny bend can be used as an apex with some movement leading to the top tying in with the movement in the branches lower down and a live apex personally looks better than the stick you have now it’s a nice tree just needs to be finished off nicely, the dead wood has no movement so doesn’t seem part of the tree movement lower down , keep up the good work.Another option to consider is with a live apex you can wire out the branches to create a dome apex which enhances the perception of age of your tree
