i tried a minn kota electric motor on intex mariner 4 then i tried this outboard its far to powerful for intex mariner 4 but you could try on a intex mariner 3 hope this helps

@@noway57 I'm currently researching small outboards for a dinghy. I've read tons of bad reviews on the Honda. Its air cooled and apparently it has overheating issues. This Yamaha looks like the best option in this HP range.

@@randomstuffwithjoe I've also been researching small engines for my Intex Mariner 4. I bought the Yamaha 2.5 and I'm very happy with it. My research narrowed it down to the Yamaha 2.5 or the Mercury 3.5 4 stroke, which weigh 17 & 18Kg. The Yamaha has lots of clever little design features and you can download a free service manual from Yamaha which is about an inch thick when printed... great if you plan on maintaining the engine yourself. I also read bad things about the Honda... its air cooled and people complained it sounds like a lawnmower. The Honda has a centrifugal clutch which in my opinion is just another part which could break. Good luck buying your outboard for your Dinghy!
