Hi. thank you for the video. the soundhole seems oval. can you measure and tell us the size of the hole. Also will the size of the sound hole make a difference in the quality of the sound?

My new R9 came with a twisted neck along with areas of bleed-over on the binding in several spots. It went back and the next one was near perfect. I also picked up the Epiphone Slash LP when I sold my PRS in 2021 and the factory (or Sweetwater?) setup was amazing! Super low action, no buzz, and best intonated guitar I've ever had - very impressed with Epiphone. I usually like fiddling with the setup on a new guitar purchase, but there was noting I could improve on. I am considering selling both LP's, banking most of the money and getting a $300 - $500 LP style guitar. I love tinkering and making any guitar sound and play well so I'd love to hear some suggestions...

For around $500 I like a used PRS Tremonti SE. Sweet guitar.

@budgetguitaristcom Tx! I'll see if I can find one to try. I had a PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo that would not stay in tune and had intonation problems. It was however the prettiest guitar I ever owned! 😊

What about the Yamaha CPX 600

Thanks for sharing your relief from arm fatigue. I suffer from a similar malady. Is the inch still making a difference today. I would be moving from 4 to 3 inches and it just seems like an inch wouldn;t matter that much but several makers are offering this version at 3 in. so it must be making a difference.

It does make a difference... but not as much as playing electric. But every little bit counts. Best way to see is to go to a Gutiar Center or Sam Ash and play an acoustic with a smaller body, and see what you think.

Would you choose this guitar or a takamine gd11 ?
@budgetguitarist11 ай бұрын
Tough question. Me, personally, I'd choose the Yamaha because I know how to work on guitars and can get the action lower. But the Takamine might be slightly better set up out of the box. They're similar quality.

Very scary video. Please buy a cloth seamstress measuring tape instead of holding the guitars together! But, otherwise, thanks for the intro to the APX600
