In today's video I build a wheelie bar for my fast 240cc homemade Yamaha blaster 2 stroke drag minibike. I also bring the kx250 shifter kart from hibernation and do some work on it. Stay tuned for it's first drag strip pass.

Hiya buddy, with regards to the wheelie bar you should have used the spherical bearing joints top and bottom for extra adjustability as the last thing that you need is the bike veering off to one side when you’re really moving.

9:15 TIP... use the BLUE MCP brake pads .. the black ones are too grippy and wear VERY fast in high power applications. We run blue pads on all our dual engine Vintage racing karts, front & rear brakes .. much better braking control, drastically reduced pad wear, and no need to adjust brake calipers for pad wear during a weekend racing event.

You can try to not let of the gas when shifting, so the twostroke stays in the powerband... Just blip the clutch while putting some pressure on the shifter and with the right pressure the next gear should slip in...

I'm not sure if you're doing it but I would recommend clutchless shifting especially on 2 strokes because you're in and out of the power band so fast that using the clutch slows your times so much. At least in my experience.

What I do is just stay in it, but blip the clutch a little when I shift

Your dumping the clutch and not revving out high enough.You should be able to hold it wide open then pop the clutch and get full use of that wheely bar. Like a holeshot device only its a wheely bar. Do it trust me and you will launch just be ready for it!
