Thanks Jim! I sure appreciate the compliment 😊 I love the C3X. It is an absolute dream to play. You know, I have spent countless hours on each of Yamaha's CX models doing my best to learn the nuanced differences between the models. What I have noticed with the C3X is that this specific model has a complex character overall in regard to its tone. I love the versatility I have on this piano for playing many genres as it works great for Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Pop. The action is smooth and help you easily control the instrument. When I say complex, I think when I post the C2X video (coming soon) you will hear what I mean. Yamaha made the C2X a warmer and more subdued character compared to the C3X. The C3X has the ability to give more punch and range of dynamics compared to the C2X. Jim, we work with musicians all around the country. When it comes time for you to get the grand piano you've always dreamed of, we sure would appreciate the opportunity to earn your business. Still several years away but in the interim may I ask, the arrangement of Don't Stop Me Now that you play in your vides (executed amazingly by the way), is it your own or one that I can purchase to learn from. I've downloaded several but I don't think any have the richness that the one you demo with does. Thanks again for the great content and keep talking pianos!

I'm glad to hear you have enjoyed our videos and thank you for watching! We have not recorded the C1X. In our experience, when people are looking at the CX series they end up preferring the C2X and the C3X. So, we do not stock the C1X and therefore I have not had the piano at our store for me to record. If anyone ever special orders it I will get a video :) - Josh

That's one way of looking at it. The X marks a newly designed piano series. However, on all of the material we receive from Yamaha, it is noted as the CX series so for all intent and purpose, it is the CX series. Yamaha's CX series came out after finishing the design of the CFX in 2010.

I think the microphone in this recording did not capture the lower registers as accurately as the treble. I played a C3X today and it has what I would describe as a fairly rich bass, especially for a medium-sized (six-foot) grand.
