In my opinion, a very good drum machine, especially for its time! Interesting rhythms, non-repulsive design and good ergonomics for a small home Studio of the 1980s. Yamaha knows its business!

Another thing I like abouth the Yamaha DD-10 is that it uses the same drum samples as the Yamaha PSS-570 so I'm seriously thinking about buying a Yamaha DD-10 as I already have a Yamaha PSS-470 ( and fairly limited space! ). So I think it would make sense for me to buy a Yamaha DD-10 instead of a Yamaha PSS-570 ( or the other model with grey buttons ). I also like the fact this drum machine is small enough to store away when I don't need it and they are cheap!

Rhythm number 98 is an interesting combination of Samba and electronic beat. You have a good collection!

I own one of these, but on of the hit hat buttons doesn't work. i brought it to sample the sounds, but never got around to it.

It does work, it's an open/closed toggle for the hi hat on the larger pads, it does the same thing as the pedal switch. Hold the button and press the hi hat on the large pad to play an open hi hat. The button can also be reassigned to a different instrument but you need to assign the open hi hat first to a large pad before you can do this.

Does anyone know if you can start and stop it using a pedal ? (ie playing guitar and want it to stop at same time )m

there are a set of 8 pads for each sound/ buttons.

I don’t think you can , ive got one on the way, you could create a rhythm and loop it . I think there is a stop start button for hand use too
